THE MULTIVERSE IS FULL OF DARK THINGS: Yuriko Oyama is a cyborg with a self-repairing machine body and deadly Adamantium claws, being better known as the samurai warrior Lady Deathstrike. She is the daughter of Lord Dark Wind, an insane and abusive Japanese kingpin who invented a process to coat bones with the indestructible metal Adamantium. After putting an end to her father, Oyama became devoted to carry on his legacy by becoming obsessed with the mutant Wolverine, who had been unrightfully enhanced with Adamantium and disgraced Oyama's honor. To be as lethal as Wolverine, Oyama sacrificed her humanity and made a deal with the exquisite witch Spiral in order to be transformed into Lady Deathstrike.

Changes from 1.0:
• Healing 1 instead of Cybernetic Repair X. While it's still a thing with Nebula, they both also have Vengeful Strike and are 240 points. Just something to separate them a bit, though Unstoppable Resilience is another option there.
• Now has Stealth, and has cyborg and experiment keywords.

Marvel database mentions Reavers, Weapon X-Force, Sisterhood of Mutants, Descendants, Wolverines, Thunderbolts, and Atelier. No idea how prevalent she was in any of those, or if many of those teams are even worth pursuing.

Wonder if it'd be reasonable/useful to generalize Weapon X-Force and Weapon X into one?

I can't remember where we left off with talk of Reavers or how relevant she was to them.

Seems like a pretty straightforward conversion. I wouldn't mind a more "Terminator-level hard to kill" version of her at some point, but it doesn't have to be this version.

Done a little researching, and from what I can gather for a more "general" Lady Deathstrike we'd want either no faction or Reavers. Reavers is by far her most common team. Sisterhood could also be an option maybe but I don't think that was a long stint.

I don't know what the plans are for Weapon X, but there was a bit on the Marvel database about her time in Weapon X-Force and it sounded like there could just be a leader Sabretooth that recruits her into it.

I'd be interested to hear any tweaks we want for her here. To me she kinda sits in the shadows of Nebula who is very similar to her, who has range and bonding in exchange for the defense reduction.

I like that her healing is simpler but she felt overcoated in 1.0 before Nebula was around IMO. I like her but a little concentrated fire and she falls really fast before doing much. I do think Unstoppable Resilience might be a better option here overall.

I also wonder if we couldn't up her life/defense just a smidge or maybe she can shave some points. Like maybe start at 220?

I'd definitely not do a Sisterhood of mutants faction on her. It was a weird and brief thing and the second time she popped up she was the leader.

And half the members were not even Mutants

I'd be down for resilience, I'll update her shortly.

Durability wise, being 6 Life 5 Defense with Resilience will probably be enough to not let her fall to range as fast. If we're wanting to juice her a bit more I feel like upping her Life is safer than defense if we're giving her resilience, since her defense is 5.

Seems like either Reavers or factionless is the way to go here then

That comment was more for as the OP currently was than if she got Resilience. I think a test and see approach is better. Wouldn't at all mind her coming in a bit cheaper if that's how it pans out too, to be clear. Just giving impressions :)

I'd probably suggest Reavers just in case. No harm in having it and if someone does something with them, she could already be a good mechanic to build on.

Resilience is a cool idea. Differentiating more from Nebula is good. Definitely have felt that they're basically the same except Nebula is just better, so more tweaks for different playstyles seems neat.

Prob a good idea with that change.

Interesting to note that it makes it harder to "charge up" her vengeful strike. But also harder to take her down once its rolling nasty. Fun.

Just going to point out that folks though Magneto with 5 defense and an auto skull was too oppressive and this is a touch better since it's also avoiding swipes and damage dice.

Yeah, I might go 4 Defense and if she's feeling weak in testing, consider boosting Life by 1 since she can't heal anymore.

Boosting life is an extra buff to her because of Vengeful Strike, so something to not do flippantly.

Unstoppable Resilience is a pretty major buff (going from healing 1 wound/round to effectively healing 1 wound every time she is attacked, in addition to the damage die and swipe immunity). Agreed with the defense drop but I wouldn't be too worried about her feeling too weak at least in theory. Looks fun and nice to differentiate from Nebula.

My thoughts as well. all of it.
