I just checked out how far it is from Fremont to Atlantic, Ia and from Ames to Atlantic and it's about 1 hr. 50 min. for each of us. I don't know about driving that far for just a game but if we could find more people in the area I would be willing for a tournament.deliverymanxas said:Where do you guys normaly play? Im in Fremont, NE and have a few friends that play about once a week. If you guys are up to it, maybe we can get something going sometime? If driving isnt your thing...like me...maybe we can find someplace in the middle to meet up.
Let me know
Easy….just head south from were you are at…. And as soon when you notice the scenery and the women get better looking you are in Iowagibberish_47 said:Wait, where's Iowa again?
Supergeek said:Oh yeah, I'm still here. My biggest problem is that I have only 1 friend who plays and I doubt that he would be willing to road trip for a game. He wasn't even interested in going to the Austin, Mn tourney last Sat. but then again, he's kind of a drunk.
I did take my traveling master set to the local comic/game store for boardgame night and talked to one of the guys from the I.S.U. wargaming association and I will be attending one of their meetings for rercruiting purposes. So, hopefully soon I will have many more people that may be interested!
Also, I know Jormi_Boced and Codeman are going to be having another tourney in Forest City in Sept./Oct. or something and if you would like to meet me somewhere, you could ride up with me.
Let me know what you are thinking about and we'll try to work something out.
Codeman said:Deliverymanxas... if you are 2 hours from Ames then your over halfway to FC. Tree Town is approx 1 1/2 hours (75-80 miles) straight north of Ames on Hwy 69 ( the same road the tourney will be off of )
Mayhem? I just got back from Ames last night. I remember when Mayhem was litterally a closet next to the porn theater. I forget the main owner's name, but it may as well be Rich$.Supergeek said:I did take my traveling master set to the local comic/game store for boardgame night and talked to one of the guys from the I.S.U. wargaming association and I will be attending one of their meetings for rercruiting purposes.
It's in the middle of the corn belt. SG, why are there so many houses for sale in Ames?gibberish_47 said:Wait, where's Iowa again?
I don't know what the deal is but it's a buyers market for sure. My brother lives in Nevada and has been trying to sell his house for a year.Joah said:It's in the middle of the corn belt. SG, why are there so many houses for sale in Ames?gibberish_47 said:Wait, where's Iowa again?

Do you guys have an exact date and time planned yet? This way I can start planning with my friends and most important, my wife. I think somebody said sometime in Sept./Oct.?
What is the entry going to be? Prizes? Are the games going to be 1 on 1, or teams?
Some of these may have already been answered, if so I apologize.
