I Appreciate You!

Always had good luck with Huntress. Her Kirigi would be my top picks.
Though that is based on personal experience. I have never played some of these.
Fun format.

My thoughts on the Gangs draft:

My top pick would have been Kirigi - 6 life, 6 move, 5 attack and Undead Resilience plus Auto Wounding ability he's my clear number one.

After that the next best units, for me, in no particular order -
Swordsman - Swordplay, Ranged Special Attack and Counter Strike plus strong Attack and Defensive numbers
Electra - Great stats and in a multi player game her Special Attack gets lots of targets. Also has an auto destroy special at 17 or higher. Strong stats with range.
Batman - Nerve Punch is so good especially paired with Assess Weakness
Huntress - Ruthless Counter Strike with a defense of 5 plus a Special Attack that is usually easy to set up for its bonus makes her great.
Stick - As long as I had a Fighter or Assassin to go with him.

After that there are lots of good figures in there:
Raza has mainly been a chump for me, but that's when he plays in his Pirate faction which is weak and he's expensive for what he does. He should be fine here though, where the other stuff doesn't matter.
Ronin can get in some great multi attacks, but with 5 def and 4 life he can go down quick.

Haven't played with Shi, Solomon Kane or Kenshi so I can't comment on them. The rest of the figures could do really well, but in this format I'd want to build around the top 6 that I listed.

All in all a solid list of choices. On Paper TW or SD have the teams that I would want to play, but none are really weak or too strong. Good luck, I look forward to reading how it goes down.

Well met!

I here you, Ericth. I’m hopeful that Harsh Sensei on Kenshi (the only synergy in the game) will mitigate somewhat the relative weakness of my army as a whole.

No love for White Tiger...she doesn't even get a mention. I'm heartbroken. :)

You guys are awesome and so cool to see you getting a chance to get together again. Love reading your thread.

Well met!

Note: Silly me, I’m just noticing that Kenshi’s Telekinetic Swordplay is not restricted to adjacent opponents.

Looks like a ton of fun! My money might be on Taeblewalker's army, but we all know how fickle dice can be!

Well met!

"C3G 1.0 started in 2009 as a collaborative project that produces Heroscape content based on superheroes and other comic franchises. Members of C3G collaborated to design over 1500 custom units to be played with one another. Units are playtested by C3G members and the community, and are tightly balanced with each other.

"In 2022, we decided to reboot C3G. New rules, new language, new mechanics. We wanted to completely separate ourselves from the classic Heroscape ruleset to fully create a separate game. This also allowed for a lot of updates to older designs that were not up to par 13 years later.

"In August 2023, we released the C3G SuperScape Starter Set, kicking off the official release of C3G 2.0. More releases are planned to follow quarterly, with a mix of new designs and conversions of existing C3G 1.0 designs."

I hear you, and good luck with this. As it is, I have never read or applied the original C3G Rules to my C3G scenarios, nor used C3G Maps. Not including them is house rules, I guess. The elegant simplicity of regular 'Scape rules has been sufficient for the purposes of a draft containing a finite number of Cards within a certain point range.

For my next Hosting in August, I'm thinking of going with this.

Well met!

My point, no. His point? In the meantime, you'll notice that the point range for this is a mere 40 points (220-260).

Well met!

@IAmBatman, it rarely happens, but I really hate it when everybody gets the joke but me . . .

No jokes! I think we were all just trying to figure out how to process your necro post

I guess I’m glad you like part of what we used to work on? Kinda feels like you gave us half an insult and then said “hey, check out what I’m doing!” The posted video was reflecting the same energy, I think.

Like no ill will or anything, just kinda not sure how to respond to the out of the blue post you made here.

I understand, @IAmBatman. I regret any hurt feelings. I meant it when I said good luck. The "with that" was the bad joke part. We rarely play Supers games, except for those of Sherman Davies, which are far simpler than even Legacy, and meant to be playable with regular 'Scape. I feel that Hosting a C3G draft scenario, even in Legacy, let alone the "whole new game" that is C3G 2.0, is pushing it for the Gang, as far as an acceptable complexity level is concerned. I had hoped to somehow generate the kind of feedback/discussion that occurred at the beginning of this thread for my narrowly focused, thematic use of select Legacy Cards, but was afraid (apparently for good reason) that your having moved on to C3G 2.0 would result in a lack of interest in discussing what I have been doing with Legacy.

Anyways, my appreciation for all that has gone before is undiminished, and I shall take a closer look at 2.0 as it develops - and let you all know how our game went . . .

Like I said, no ill-will. But, yeah, I think active C3Gers have fully moved onto 2.0. It's fun over there where the mechanics make more sense! :)

Well met!

@Arkham, clearly you have chosen an appropriate name. ;)

I posted this in 2022. Although the Cards' pics were lost in the later post, this earlier one has the text for each Card. The point range was 160-195. This was the result of the draft:

Chas

Katana

Ronin

Huntress

Kitana

Taeblewalker

Batman

Swordsman

Daredevil

White Tiger

Sherman Davies

Shi

Kirigi

Elektra

Gray Fox

Kolakoski

Raza

Kenshi

Stick

Solomon Kane

Prior to it, chas posted this. Oddly, I cannot find the battle report . . .

I do like that snake draft format. Close to what my friends used to play.
2.0 is not going to mesh well with any other Heroscape so probably not great for you all.
1.0 was not really ideal either.

"Perfect is the enemy of good." There was no way 1.0 could have been. It was certainly not internally balanced. But, for our purposes, it is pretty close.

What does "not internally balanced" mean? They are very well balanced with each other. If you mean not externally balanced with classic/C3V you are correct, we always said not to mix with Classic as it wasn't designed or tested to work with it.

You have a solid mix of cards in there and should make for a fun game!
