After a longish absence from playing (even thinking much about) the game, I've come back and done an inventory of what I have and want:

Wants:

Templar Cavalry (when did these become desirable?)
BftU Terrain/other terrain oddments (partial road/lava/ice hexes, trees, etc.,)
PayPal

• For many of these items, any reasonable offer is worth a shot. For example, I'll trade Anubian Wolves, which I have lots of, for a squad I only have 3 of. Likewise the hero packs--offer me anything I can play! Give me a little bit of terrain! Give it a shot; I won't be offended!

I was cleaning out my LEGO/game storage room that also doubles as my home office, and came across an unopened Swarm of the Marrow set that I'd forgotten I had. I'd like to sell it, to help finance some of the new Summoner Wars decks that just became available.

Prices on eBay look like they're hovering between $30 and $50, depending on completeness. I'm asking $40, plus actual shipping.

I've also got most of an opened Rise of the Valkyrie (white dice, non-sparkly water). I know it's missing the Zettian Guards, and I need to see what else it may be missing. I'll entertain any reasonable offer.

I'd prefer Paypal, but I'm open to other payment types. I ship world-wide.

Porkins "BIG SALE!" Post States ---> "Looking for cash via Paypal (preferably). Prices are negotiable, but basically I'm looking for eBay/Auggie's selling price minus 10-20%. So it's not Walmart clearance prices, but should be better than other online sources. I will also give an additional discount for higher volume orders <---

1. Porkins starting price for a used complete set of Quillas Alliance (AA)is $185. Porkins sent me a PM with a link to E-Bay- On this E-Bay link a used complete set of AA was $174 the Highest and $153 the lowest on this E-Bays page. Wow Porkins used AA is 6% higher @ $174 and 17% higher @ $153. It’s a good thing Porkins stated “So it's not Walmart clearance prices, but should be better than other online sources”. Well in this POST Porkins also stated “I'm looking for eBay/Auggie's selling price minus 10-20%”. Even if Porkins gives a 10% discount on his $185 AA its actually only a 4% savings using the $174 price on E-Bay. Now @ the $153 price there is no savings only a good screwing in my opinion.

2. Now let’s talk about “Prices are negotiable”, I told Porkins that on 1-30-2012 I bought a used AA from Auggies Games at $99 dollars (I offered to e-mail Porkins the recipt as proff) . I didn’t try to insult Porkins by wanting 10-20% off Auggies $99 price, I suggested that we meet in the middle of $174 and $99 which would be $139 for a complete set of used AA.

In my opinion Porkins should have posted “When it comes to my prices on a used complete set of AA, They are a slight bit HIGHER than E-Bays (by 6 – 17%) and are not negotiable when it comes to Auggies lower prices so DONT ASK FOR A DISCOUNT”.

Thanks for your Concern but I feel like it is false advertisement especially when it comes to "I'm looking for eBay/Auggie's selling price minus 10-20%" stated by Porkins in his "BIG SALE!" post. Thanks again DungeonMaster
 
For what it's worth, I also tend to use Auggie's buy prices as a starting point for trade discussions. In most cases, they are somewhat lower than successful, completed eBay prices, but not dramatically so. Thus, they tend to represent a "fair price" for both buyer and seller.

In a few cases however -- AA being the most glaring -- Auggie's listed prices are way below even the lowest ebay completed sale prices (not just the inflated asking prices.) The catch is that Auggie almost never actually has any to sell, as they are so far below "market" that they get snatched up instantly.

In my view, if folks want to match Auggie's pricing on rare items that Auggie doesn't actually have available, that's great -- but I wouldn't necessarily expect them to do so. On the other hand, I agree that making a blanket statement to sell everything "below Auggie's price" is dangerous, for exactly that reason.

Just my $0.02...
 
All I did was politely decline his offer (which is of course my prerogative) while explaining my rationale, which is pretty much exactly what Grison said.

Personally, I think it's bad form to broadcast Private Messages on the forum.

If it makes everyone (one person??) happy, I will edit my sale post to say something like, "Prices are whatever I want to ask." I was basically trying to give people an idea of ballpark what I was looking for when they make offers...although most have sent a message that says, "How much is...", so I guess I don't need to give an idea of ballpark anyway.
 
Sometimes in a negotiation you have to say "This is not what I was looking for, thanks and good luck."

Next time the price is too high, DungeonMaster, just say "thanks but no thanks" and walk away. Different people sell for different reasons and ask for different things in exchange for what they're offering.

You could probably fill a pair of schoolbusses with people who have written something to the effect of "I had a great transaction with Porkins."

I'm not saying you weren't disappointed and I wish you good luck in whatever it is you are seeking, but I don't see how you were wronged. I really don't.
