Heroscapers that are published authors

Here's a link to a book in which I wrote a chapter. It's about roleplaying in the 70s and 80s.

I'm writing a fantasy adventure module for Dark City Games. The players can choose from one of two adventure options; A) find a collection of monster body parts including a unicorn's horn and a dragon scale and B) locating the magical fonts of the four elements to infuse their power into gemstones. What would be a good name for the module? I was thinking "Of Firestones and Dragon Scales," but I'm not married to it. Thanks for replying!

I'm in the middle of writing a Western adventure for Dark City Games. It's my third Western!

2023 was an amazing year (following three that were terrible.) I spent the majority of its months relaunching my train graffiti books and published 8 East Bay Train Graffiti books and 2 Black and White and Read All Over/Explore volumes (these 2 books focus on train monikers and art and exploring the East Bay for graffiti, street art, etc.) As well, my wife and I explored so many new locations and met several graffiti writers and artists 'in the wild'.

I'm taking 2024 easy and building up my videos and images of trains that roll past our backyard in order to create future volumes. Lots of loving hard work creating these books.

Awesome! I see so much train graffiti. It’s nice to know someone is out there documenting it.

Hey D_S! Thanks. I began benching, filming, and paying attention in 2018. In 2020, when I was working remotely at home, I made an effort to document every train that went by each day. Since then, I've become somewhat of a railroading/train fan, too. I'm always considering the logistics, maintenance, workshifts and such of freight shipping.

In some of Sir Heroscape's YouTube videos there is the sound of train horns in the distance. I'm curious what his scene is like. I believe I commented about it on one of his uploads, but don't recall if he responded.

What did I miss? And yes, we're not far from a main railroad that comes through here.

You didn't miss anything. Just can't remember if I commented nor if you responded, but your local rail scene must be excellent. 8)

I've written a children's book and I'm looking for someone to do the artwork. I'm pretty good with words but not so much with drawing and painting. If anyone with artistic skills is interested PM me!

Here's the story:

Everything in parentheses is just ideas for the illustrations.

The Adventures of Kitty: Kitty Finds a Home

Page 1. Cindy loved her new home. There were pretty flowers on the front lawn. (Cindy stands in front of her new home, admiring the flowers).

Page 2. She decorated her living room just how she liked! (Cindy hangs a picture).

Page 3. After a long day of decorating, she made ready for bed. (Cindy, wearing pajamas, yawns).

Page 4. While she was sleeping, a noise outside woke her. (Cindy looks scared, hiding under the covers).

Page 5. Then she heard the sound more clearly. “That sounds like a cat!” (Cindy listens, and a “Meow!” comes from outside the window).

Page 6. She opened the bedroom window, and in bounded a kitty cat! (Kitty bounds in, with Cindy smiling).

Page 7. Kitty had no collar. She looked very thin. “Poor thing, you must be starved!” (Kitty looks sad while Cindy looks concerned).

Page 8. “I can give you some tuna for now.” (Kitty smiles as Cindy feeds her).

Page 9. Kitty sneezed. “I’ll bet you’re sick, too.” (Kitty sneezes with her eyes as slits and her mouth open).

Page 10. “I’ll keep you here overnight. Tomorrow, I’m taking you to the vet! (Cindy sits on the bed, petting Kitty, who snuggles and purrs).

Page 11. They slept soundly through the night. (Kitty sleeps at Cindy’s feet, all curled up. Zzzz’s come from both).

Page 12. The next morning, Cindy made breakfast. “You can have some of my bacon and milk until I can give you proper food.” (Kitty mewls to beg).

Page 13. After breakfast, Cindy went out to buy a carrying case for Kitty. (Cindy drives away while Kitty looks out the window).

Page 14. While Cindy was away, Kitty thought about exploring the house – (Kitty looks at the big, empty house from her perch near the window).

Page 15. – but decided it was much too big and scary! Instead, she settled in for a nap. (Kitty curls up on the back of the couch by the window).

Page 16. Eventually, Cindy came home. (Kitty perks up and looks out the window).

Page 17. Cindy brought in the kitty carrier, and let Kitty explore it. (Kitty’s tail and hindquarters stick out the back).

Page 18. Cindy closed Kitty inside! “I’m sorry, but I have to take you in this way." (Kitty mews from inside the carrier).

Page 19. Soon, they were off to the vet. (Kitty looks out the car window through the carrier, looking sad).

Page 20. When they reached the vet’s office, Kitty looked out and saw a whole new place to explore! (Kitty looks wide-eyed as they enter the building).

Page 21. Once inside, Kitty was greeted with lots of new smells. (Kitty sniffs the air through her carrier. Doggies sit nearby and other kitties are in carriers).

Page 22. When kitty went in to see the vet, she saw interesting furniture – (Kitty is on the examining table, looking down at a free-standing cabinet).

Page 23. – and jumped down to explore! (Cindy looks surprised; the reader only sees the back of the vet’s head; Kitty is sniffing under a cabinet).

Page 24. Back on the table, Kitty looked around while the vet examined her. “She’s a little underfed, but otherwise I think she’ll be fine.” (Cindy holds Kitty in place).

Page 25. The vet gave Kitty some medicine to make her all better! (Kitty is back in the carrier, while the vet, standing in the doorway to his office, waves to Cindy and Kitty).

Page 26. Back in the house, Kitty snuggled up to Cindy, secure in her new home. (Cindy sits on the couch reading a book with Kitty asleep on her lap).

October sees East Bay Freight Graffiti go double digits with Volume 10's release. Included in this book is a sort-of-relevant inclusion:
