...AND ALL EDIT HISTORY IS BACK!

Please let me know about any issues you see in that area. Next up (for the big tasks) is getting Blogs straightened out.
The OP for the C3V status report thread still has an old 'version' showing. If I look at the history link, the 4th entry down (for August 8th) should be the current 'version.'

I am still working on those fixes to edits (fixes for posts that edits between May 20 and Aug 20) but they should all of the best version available in the edit history. Feel free to tell the system to restore to the correct version. Any changes I do to correct other posts would not affect ones you correct yourself.

My bad, I misunderstood. Ignore the PM I sent. I'll see if I can get that to update. Thanks!

Happy to have Downloads back! Were links supposed to update automatically? Or are we supposed to fix links manually? (Links in my map thread are still the old style and do not work, for example.)

Also... the most recent edit history for my thread (July 27) is not back. Not a big deal, but wondering whether that matches expectations.
EDIT: I see the response to Nyys. Where do I find the 'history' for a post to restore the most recent version?

Is this something I can do on my own or does an admin need to restore it? I’m still seeing an older version on my map thread.

At the bottom of the post where you can click edit, you may have also have the ability to click 'history.' In there you should be able to find the correct 'version' and update the post accordingly. Not sure if the history link is seen by everyone.

I had to copy the raw 'code' of the correct edit, delete everything out of the OP and paste. I didn't see another way to do it, but there may be.

Interesting, people with certain privileges may have access to that button but I do not. @superfrog helped me out with updating my thread but that's good to know!

I'm sure this has been asked before but can we please increase the images per post? Just tried to update my OP in the map thread and was unable to add more photos due to the 20 image limit.

Wait, is the reputation system gone? :-( I worked really hard to get all 16 order markers, and now nobody will know..

Is the downloads search working for others? I've tried searching for maps through that and I consistently get "No results found". I tested it by going to the downloads page, copying the name of one of the maps listed there which I was able to download "Haukeland Bridge", and searched the resources and it still gives no results. Not sure if the search is actually working for the downloads?

My fics thread is still not up to date. It is possible that the shortened character limit per Post is partially to blame, although if so it would be strange that it perfectly shaved off the last two stories on there (uploaded within the edit history's problem time frame) without removing a word of the story before it. :ponder:

There's no "history" link for me, not even in the sections of the site where I have Mod duties. Regardless, I will continue to wait for Xorlof to fix the "May - August edits" problem.

It's not working for me either. I am seeing some listings in the Downloads section, but links from threads that go to Downloads don't work, and the search function isn't working either.

As an example, I was just now browsing Dignan's map thread. None of his map links work ("oops, not found" page), and when I use the search function to search the name of a map, nothing comes up. I also get no results when I put Dignan into the "author" field of the search, even if "All Categories" is selected.

My maps all appear to be accessible in the downloads section, at least for me.

Yeah, I didn't have any luck with searching the Downloads either.

A question and a commendation about downloads:

The question: Will the old links get the same redirect treatment that gallery links got? Would be a huge loss otherwise.

The commendation: You can now link directly to a file rather than only to the download page for a file! This is a big upgrade!

I've been using the bookmark feature, but whenever I use that bookmark link I have to log in again. Pretty minor but a bit annoying. Thanks!

Question about Gallery items: is there a way to replace an image without changing the URL? This was possible (indirectly) on the old site, because URLs were based on the user and the image filename; if I deleted and then re-added an image, it would end up with the same URL. But on the new site, the unique identifier for each Gallery item appears to be part of the URL. The only options I see are:

Edit media item - editing the title and description
Edit image - zooming, cropping, flipping (?) ; I don't see any way to cut/copy/paste or replace
Change thumbnail .. Move media item .. Delete media item

If I delete the image and re-add it, I am assuming the new image will be assigned a new ID. Is there a way around this that I am missing? Or a way to replace the underlying image?
