Heroscape FanFiction Collaboration - REGISTRATION CLOSED

@kolakoski quick point of clarification. The party is not close enough to the (single) hostage to initiate a new encounter. For now, you're just following them.

Hello!

I'd like to express interest in joining your next interactive fiction campaign, whenever it goes live.
This reminds me of when I would participate and host similar RPs on the Heresy Online forums around 15 years ago :D

Is it possible DestroyerHive might be able to join our current campaign? @Elven Lord ? Some homework and shoehorning required, but I'd reckon better that than wait all the way for the next one who knows when :ponder:

~TAF

@TheAverageFan As we are down a player with TGRF departing to take care of his responsibilities, I think we can handle another player.

@DestroyerHive We'd love to have you! I can offer you two choices.

1. You can take over TGRF's old character, Eliren. I'll send you his character bio and every hint/clue/piece of evidence I ever sent him, and you can go from there. The character is a half-elf kresnick warrior (god of light/bane of undead) who's bloodline was poisoned by vampiric powers (spoilers I know, but I recon everyone was already mostly onto this). He transforms into a vampire named Vlad who shoots red lightning and generally acts like a vampire when he sees a lot of blood or bleeds himself.

2. You can create your own character, preferably before reading the existing material on the Children of the Dead thread (so you have the same information the other players did). I'll go back and forth with you a bit (without pausing the existing campaigns progress) to ensure the character integrates well with the story, and then I'll insert you in a narration stage probably by having the other characters encounter you.

Once you've chosen a character and I've approved it, I'll need you to read the approx. 4 thread pages of content we've already already created and respond to your introductory narration. From there play can proceed as usual.

I look forward to including you in the collab!

Thank you both so much for including me :D ! I would prefer to make my own character. I'm sure that Eliren is an interesting individual, but half of the fun of an RPG is making your own character and I'm unsure if I could do TGRF's vision justice.

I'll look through the instructions and DM you with a character draft.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I haven’t gotten to the latest part of the campaign yet, but Lorca will try to accommodate everyone as best she can. As a swift and shielded Armoc, she will rush to the defense of her allies, providing that she can control her bloodlust ;)

oops! Sorry. Hey Tornado. Your message in the campaign thread, is that directed at Forsyth or Eliren? I'm leaning toward Forsyth because you said Sprague didn't speak.
Welcome.
Dang though, that reveal of Eliren is going to make what I was planning next way less cool. :)a

Np. Yes you are correct. Was jot entirely sure who was talking to me?
:)
Well, Forsyth spoke to you in the narration, but in your comment you interacted with Eliren, who you could safely assume was still writhing in response to the wave of necromantic energy coming from the shrine/altar/reanimation of the lich or otherwise not well. So were you talking to Forsyth or Eliren?

Coupla notes here guys.

1. If you receive a status effect it remains in place until the next NARRATION, with the exception of wounds which stay in affect or get worse until someone does something about them. Your action needs to reflect the status affect. If it doesn't, it may get worse (as it did for Sir Kae).
2. @Tornado please keep in mind that you have one action per round. I know I gave you the ability to cast an enhancement on one character that has multiple effects, but Dome of Light is a full action.
3. @DestroyerHive good job picking up on the status effect! As it is the next narration/action round, the effect drops.
4. @kolakoski You are seriously wounded, but still in the fight. You can continue fighting, do something about your head wound or take an action that keeps you in Jerrack's range. If you go another full round without healing or binding the wound, it will become critical and you'll be out of the fight until you're treated.

I guess I do not understand. This has all been one round so far?
The Dome of light can have three powers correct?
Can I take an action currently?

Ah lol. You're right they're one and the same. I see the confusion. Dome of Light is an area effect. When you said the enhancement targeted Nelson I assumed you were casting an area affect and a targeted affect, which are two different actions. My bad. Your dome should've covered Nelson and given him the enhancement.

As it is, I included both actions in the narration, but only because this bit of poetry had me rolling.

"Protection from Harm and from Undead,
and Ranged Attack Enhancement
to blow off his head."

I'll pay closer attention to the dome placement in the future. You are good.

Have a BLESSING. Call it an apology.

Np. Just was not sure.
How far away can I cast Pillar of Light? Line of sight?
yes, line of sight for both pillar and dome. Each narration begins a new round. I just got confused and thought you took 2 actions in one post. This is the third round of the encounter.

Another question. Can I move the location of the dome?
If so, can I get an idea of where everyone is right now and distances from each other or just pods of people that would fit in the dome and can I move the dome and cast a spell with one action?
Or if not, move the dome and do something else like move, or attack or examine etc?

This is actually a pretty big hole in the play system that I'll have to remedy. Maybe I can just do rough sketches for now to show the locations of significant players/objects (like the monolith). I really want the story to be more narrative than technical, but some technics might be called for here. Let's hit pause real quick while I figure out how to do that for you. Probably won't get to it till tomorrow morning. I can at least add them at the end of the narrations, just so everyone knows where they are.

Dammit. I thought I responded to this. Apparently I answered one question and not the other. Yes, you can move the dome once. But keep in mind it expires at the end of this round. Basically, an ability like this stays up for two narrations (the one that puts it up and the one that takes it down).

Well met!

Not sure of my limitations here. Following my fluttering feather:

1. May it enter the monolith and disrupt or destroy it on its own, or

2. May it show a weakness such that a Tanto may be driven into it to the same effect?
