Heat of Battle Map (for online league play)

Bengi

Online HS League Champion
In our Monday Night Heroscape League, one of our weeks will feature a 600 point Heat of Battle match. I want a map made special for this match so I am putting the call out to all you cartograpers out there. Post your maps here and I will select the one I like most and your map will win the honor of being used in our prestigious league. League members are welcome to participate as well.

It must use 1x RotV and up to two of either VW or TT (or 1 of each if you're feeling frisky). 1x FoTA is optional.

It wasn't checked, but i checked/unchecked it
No luck
I think if you want to keep trying to help, please do it by PM. I'm sure Benji doesn't want this post filled with me failing.

how about this?

Not bad Vega.

For others, this map has no need to be symmetrical as it doesn't matter with HoB rules.

I've got one done up on the table, and I even got a game in.

Now comes the ever impossible problem of figuring out how to put it into VS without wrecking it... :p

I've done that before, it's not too hard to do. I look forward to seeing it!

I'm looking for a map designed with Heat of Battle rules in mind. As cool as that looks, I don't think that gets it done.

Boom, shot down
I thought HotB could work for this, with the amount of nooks and twists that take time to get figures into.

@Megapower: Remember that HoB maps don't have start zones. The map is a little flat and boring for a HoB map.

HoB maps are best at a small size (Smaller than most conventional maps because there are no starting zones) and with a lot of elevation that allows figures to still stay engaged to eachother. This allows melee to still be effective instead of allowing ranged figures to start on a castle, etc. They are best Asymmetrical and with a lot of different choices, a decent amount of glyphs/T glyphs, (Remember you can't place a figure on them when starting the game). Lava shakes it up, and so do battlements, LoS blockers, road, and castles (Which are best in moderation if capped).

This. Get creative!

I worry a bit about the isolated rock 3-hex. I can imagine the Krav sitting on there from the start, with that barrier of water.

:2cents:

I don't mind the 3 hexer, you can always place nearby and move adjacent in 1 move. I'm more worried about the single hex piece that isn't adjacent to any water.

Great map!

I went ahead and edited out the rock, corrected the Virtualscape file and uploaded the pdf to Google Docs. I'll correct the image when I've got access to a graphics carded computer.

Do you guys still need Skyped versions of the maps now that you're using Google docs?

[edit] I looked at the Heroskype app (which really is incredible), and it seems like Massive Curse would be a pain to execute. Maybe I should switch those out for Healer...
