Gary's Heroscape Site & Stuff

I don't know why I haven't check it out before, but your site looks great.

I LOVE the modular map section!

thanks Jaz1597. the modular map section is on a slight pause while i work on my XML/SVG project for storing battlefields/scenarios. plus, this project will help out the Modular Maps in several ways. one will be an auto-point calculator based on my rules for determining points for a modular map (or any map for that matter).

Also, i've just added the "Crest of the Valkyrie" (Flagbearers) to the tables thanks to Riggler's thread.

Hi Gary,
Love your site, especially the tables which I utilize often. When we play we usually have five (5) or six (6) players. What I would really like to see is a nice six player map where we could finish a game in about 4-5 hours. Ive got lots to work with. Entire collection of figures including all exclusives, about 10 MS, 2 VC, 6 RTTFF, 6 COTA, 2 TT. If you do any projects along these lines please let me know. There just aren't a lot of 6 player boards out there. Thanks in advance for your time and efforts. Keep on 'Scapin, you're a great asset to the HS community.
Regards,
Startoker

thanks for the high praise Startoker.

once i get a bigger collection of modular maps i will create some senarios that use them. (i'm not real thrilled with the last two modules i made and will probably rework or remove them.)

also with a nice big collection of modules to work with someone could say "ok, i've got these expansions and x number of masters. my buddy also has some terrain. if i build these modules and he builds this other module and brings it with him, we can arrange them into a pretty big map for all 6 players."

castle is done. yeah!
click here --> The West Barbican of Idona Castle

again i'll mention that if you're using FireFox (or Opera) browser then just click on the above link. otherwise you will need to install an SVG Viewer plug-in (look a few posts back in this thread).

I hadn't let you know that I borrowed your Dund rotating image for the NGS game - hope it's OK to steal your bandwidth!

Let me know if you'd rather I upped it to my space...

We are now at 200 figures! That's amazing! And to think that there was a time I was happy with 30. :p

And props to you Gary. I love your site and use it regularly. ;)

Wow. Nice site. I like the spinning avi's, but I like mine better. :p (As a note, all works well in MSN Explorer. People are usually asking if things work in other browsers, so I thought I offer this info, as I find few people use this browser.)

GaryLASQ, wow, that is an excellent gathering of heroscape information! The fact that the data in the tables is sortable by title is awesome. Very good.

One thing, I noticed that the extensions on the pages are all .htm... did you make all of these pages statically? or are you using a PHP/ASP/something and just disguised it behind the htm extension? or maybe you generate the static pages with a script?

yes, static pages generated with script. the tables are XML converted to HTML via XSLT. no scripting happens while browsing.

cool. good to know. i only check my pages in IE, FireFox and sometimes Netscape (which is a lot like FireFox internally). what i don't care about is if things don't work in some moldy old version of a browser.

Ok, i guess i could have figured this out if I had read more of this thread.

BTW- your stuff works in Firefox, Opera and Konqueror in Linux

fyi. i know some of you hit my site often for looking up character stats.

having some technical difficulties with the server for www.glasq.com, so heroscape.glasq.com is down. i'll post back when things are working again.

Ack! The horror!

still down. probably going to be another 24 hours or more. heh, besides not having access to my site, there are a few things on it linked into pages here at Heroscapers that are affected; avatars of a few other members, zipped PDFs for maps from the HQ, pics in numerous threads, etc. *sigh*

thanks markwars :). in that case i'll make everyone wait a little longer ;)

still down. i've been assured it will be back up within the next two days.

when it does come back up i have a new little something to show off.
:quarter:

Looking forward to the updates! Love the site Gary, go there often to check on things...

And I was also wondering what happened to my avatar, now I know!

P.S. I have been dying to know, how did you create the "video" of the map in your avatar? Do you have a "how-to" somewhere on the site? If not, I'd be really interested in that information. Thanks again!
