I am planning on bringing all my Heroscape and running something. Any suggestions? Anyone want to come and help?

I can see myself coming down to Madison for some gaming fun. Not sure on my level of involvement behind the scenes but I'll give it some thought.

Along the same lines as Yodaking here. Thanks for alerting me to the existence of this con.

Hmm...I'll definitely have my eye on this event. I had never heard of it previously. But looks like it could be fun, it'd depend on my schedule; I'd be tempted to see if they'd let me bring photo and video cameras for some pics/vids of all things Heroscape.

I need your input.

What should we offer? A tournament? Lots of different maps to play on? A huge mega game? Scenarios?

I am looking for your input so that I can tell the organizer what we will be doing. I am offering only the standard classic Heroscape (waves 1-13 and all the terrain and expansions), but no customs or Marvel or C3G. It would be nice if that segment was also represented.

What say you!

I was thinking about maybe bringing my C3G stuff and setting up some scenarios for people to play. Have some themed battles featuring iconic Superheroes & Villains on maps featuring Grish's buildings and other custom terrain. Then people at the convention who want to try it out for the first time can just sit down and play an army that looks interesting to them. Since it would just be a fun way to introduce people to the game no need to worry about prizes or the perfectly balanced maps used in tournament play. I still need to check out my schedule to make sure I'll be free and decide just how much extra stuff I want to take on. Part of me just wants to go and play a bunch of other games that may be new to me and not worry about running one.

As for what you should do, I'd at least consider the idea of setting up a similar thing for classic scape. That is if you are interested in teaching new players how the game works and sharing your figures with strangers. A tournament will just attract players already familiar with Heroscape.

So I registered 3 slots on Saturday with classic Heroscape. If anyone wants to help or do a table of Marvel let me know. If the tables fill up in pre-registration, I will just open up more tables.

Would have been nice if this was during the summertime, then I'd gladly make the trip north 90min for this. Good luck Ztmister hope it is a fun weekend for you all!

I will keep this on my radar and probably be able to check out whatever is going on. It's been too long since I've played, so really would be up for anything but would like to prefer to play a serious game or two if possible!

I'm sure that can be arranged...

The Con is 2 weeks away for anyone who is interested. Check out the games listed. I am running games all day on Saturday the 2nd of November so come by and say hi if you make it. It should be a fun day.

The Con is over and it was great fun. I ran 15 hours of Heroscape and lived to tell about it. We set up a large game on a 6' round table and had 6 people going head-to-head for the first track. It is always fun to watch people build when they are not constrained by terrain. Pools of lava, forests of evergreens, rivers and lakes with Ice flows and icebergs, roads and bridges all over the place. Drafting creative armies of Vipers, elves, dragons, and hordes of zombies (with extras to convert the infected.)

Alliances were made, people were betrayed, but it was all fun. The night ended with a zombie horde rolling across the map and everyone running for high ground...to no avail. There were just too many of them in the end.

We had a few one-on-one side games that were fast a furious and I had to shut them down when midnight rolled around (I'm sure they would have played all night.)

Gamehole Con - Tournament this year??!!

Gamehole Con 2.0 is now posted and they are looking for games to fill the slots. I plan on doing Heroscape again this year and would like to do a tournament. With that said, I have never done a tournament before and need some advice (rules would help) for making the event fun and run smoothly.

The Con is November 7th-9th up here in Madison, WI at the Sheraton Hotel (awesome venue!) I would run the tournament on Saturday (8th) but I need some advice on time (how long does a tournament take to run?) I will also be running other games (Mega Map Game, one-on-one matches for fun...try out that army that you thought might be funny to use without the pressure of winning.) basically 15 hours of heroscape madness.

Who is in?? Anyone want to help??
