Final 2014 Online Rankings
(Formerly 2014 End of Year Championships Qualification)
Below are the final top 30 of the 2014 rankings.
This is the official qualification format for the 2014 EoY Championships event.
- The winners of all regular seasons during 2014, as well as the winner of the 2013 EoY Championship event, will be invited to play in the event.
- The remaining invitations will be given to the highest-ranked players, based on their 2014 ranking (details below) at the end of the last regular season in 2014.
- Players who have not played in at least 2 full seasons will not be invited unless they won a 2014 season or the 2013 EoY event. Dropping from a season subtracts one from this count.
- The tournament will have up to 16 players. We will continue inviting players to play until we have 16 players, up to the 25th position on the 2014 rankings board. If we do not have 16 spots filled by then we will assign first-round byes to the top seeded players.
In order to fairly and accurately track players' performance over 2014, we have come up with the following system. (Note: only games that are a part of a normal 2014 season count toward these rankings.)
- Each player has a 2014 ranking that started at the base ranking level at the start of 2014.
- When a game is played, three things happen (example: dok beats Kinseth):
- The overall rankings (used for pairings during the seasons) is updated.
- "2014 dok" gets credit for beating "Overall Kinseth"
- "2014 Kinseth" gets credit for losing to "Overall dok"
Spoiler Alert!
Note: while these details are official, we reserve the right to change anything about them if at any point we feel that they have some significant problem.
