That's a pretty good list. With the exception of Sweeny Todd I've seen all those and all of them are great! I'm sure a few them would be in my top 10 if I were to sit down and figure out what my top 10 would be. I always have a hard time picking favorites when it comes to movies. There are so many good ones!

I like way too many movies to list a top anything. I've fallen in love with movies in my teens that I went back to watch only to cringe at now, and vice versa.

Thanks nether!!! I'm somewhat of a movie buff, and i've seen more movies than there are numbers to count with, but these are the ones that particularly stuck out to me over the years. I can still go back and watch any of these and laugh, cry, and jump at all the right parts. Even though i'm a girl, i rarely enjoy chick flicks, but have always loved these sort of movies.

Went back and added Silence of the Lambs. Can't belive i forgot that one!!!

Hmm... Lets see:

The Blues Brothers
Secondhand Lions
The God of Cookery (I've yet to meet someone else who's seen it...)

Close seconds: Totoro, Ratatouille, Hoodwinked, LotR, National Treasure, Howl's Moving Castle.

God of Cookery- Stephen Chow. I've seen it, but the subtitles must not have been very accurate, as I didn't find it anywhere near as funny as Kung-Fu Hustle or Shaolin Soccer.

Am I the only one who thinks Porco Rosso is the best Miyazaki film? Possibly my favorite film of all time, actually, if not for the fact that no other film had the impact on me that the first Star Wars did.

Apparently I have GOT to see a therapist because I can NOT for the life of me understand why people hate this movie so much. Is it because I'm a huge X-Men fan that I'm willing to forgive them anything as long as they put my favorite characters on the screen? I don't think so... I'm as discerning, if not more so, than the next guy... but what is it about ME that makes me unable to see X3 as a bad movie? I'm through defending it... I really am... now I just want to know what's wrong with me.

If there's anything wrong with you it is that you don't succumb to groupthink like the rest of us. Seriously, I wonder how many people here would ever be quoted as saying, "Swarm of the Marro is cool, but I see it as more of a large expansion than a Master Set", if these boards didn't exist.

I liked X3 too. There is no way that the Dark Phoenix saga was ever going to be accurately depicted- even if given the entire focus of the film. Wolverine crying does not make him a wimp. Real men cry. Besides, did anyone notice what he willingly endured prior to that?

Not as "deep" as the first two, but fun. That's my verdict.

Off the top of my head...

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Memento
3. The Matrix
4. Commando
5. More recently, Juno

If you ask me another time, 3, 4 and 5 might be different, but 1 and 2 probably won't be. I'd be just as likely to say Harold and Kumar go to White Castle as I would Sabrina (the Hepburn one.) There are a bunch of movies that I've seen once and thought were great, like The Machinist, but Pulp Fiction is fun even when I know all the lines.

Hmmm. too many great movies too mention, but here's a few

Star Wars (the original, unedited and unchanged)
The Lord of the Rings (I consider this one movie as Tolkien intended the books to be considered one book)
Spiderman 2 (best superhero movie)
Batman begins (2nd best)
October sky (I know, doesn't fit with the rest of these)
Raising Arizona
The Princess Bride
Master and Commander
Braveheart
Glory

I just finished watching The Machinist this morning.
What a cool movie!

Spoiler Alert!

Definitely a great movie! Highly recommended!!!

Did the writers got the name Trevor Reznik from Trent Reznor?
YES.
There are other cultural references detailed on Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Machinist

Also, Reznik means butcher.
in the movie, Reznik's landlady's last name is Shrike - a bird also known as a 'butcher bird'.

Spoiler Alert!

Mmmm, let's see...

Kingdom of Heaven-GREAT movie. Definitely a favorite.

Pirates of the Carribean 3-A fan of all the movies, this one was the best yet.

Star Wars 3-The most Epic of all the Star Wars

LOTR 3- It's more of a tie between this and number two, but I'm leaning towards three...

The Pallbearer
Hellboy II
28 Days Later
The Frighteners
Shawn of the Dead
Out of Sight
Jackie Chan's Police Story
Dark Knight

RV("Oh, my GAWD.")

Groundhog Day(This one is too funny in the middle. When he kills himself like 15 times, I laughed to no end.)

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King(First watched it when I was 7, and probably watched it 10 times since. Really great movie.)

Iron Man(This one has gotta be my favorite movie. Just amazing acting combined with an excellent story line that got carried out in the best way ever...I loved it.)

Spiderman 3(The second best superhero movie.)

Pirates of the Carribean 3(The storyline was better than LoTR's, imo. However, LoTR had way better action scenes, so I think it's a tossup between the two.)

Forbidden Kingdom(It was just...a great mix of comedy and action, and it stirred things up a bit, imo.)

Saharra(I wonder if anyone remembers this one? I love it. One of my earliest favorite movies.)

National Treasure(I loved the suspense-ish kind of thing they had going on. Alot of things made this a great movie, imo.)

The Last Samurai
The Dark Knight
Gladiator

The only three movie that made me want to cry... Well, Dark Knight didn't really, but it was powerful.

When my brother watched the movie Dark Knight, he said the saddest part by far was when Bruce Wayne crashes his Lamborghini and his Batmobile explodes.

Just watched WALL-E last night, and even though its a kid movie, I enjoyed it very much. Definately one of my favorite Pixar movies.

Aliens 1 and 2

This weekend I bought all four Alien DVD movies at about $6 each.
When I watched Aliens, it was amazing to see the added footage! Never knew about it and that it was added into the movie.

The colonist footage was interesting, but I could have done without.
The robot sentries footage was a shock!
The game Space Hulk seems to have been inspired a lot by Aliens. Wonder if the Overwatch mechanic was partly based on the robot sentries in the film? Was that footage available or known back then?

New list. Post TDK.

1) The Dark Knight
2) LoTR 3
3) Iron Man
4) LoTR 2
5) National Treasure
6) Groundhog Day
7) RV
8.) LoTR 1
9) Spiderman 3
10) Pirates of the Caribbean 3
11) Saharra

I like John Wayne movies and B-Rated

Evil Dead plus Army of Darkness
Big Trouble in little China
Dude where's my car?
Super Troopers
nothing but trouble
Viking movies-13th warrior, Beowulf, Beowulf and Grendel, Pathfinder
