I have no qualms with the effects of Tech Genius. Initiative boosts and auto-wounds seem like good additions to the faction. The name though seems off. I don't know how the two things are related.

I also think it's a little weird that it says he's a amateur scientist, and then we give him the science keyword. What is the genesis of him being the Turtles tech guy anyway? Did they steal some college text books or something.

Yeah I remember LP felt the name was off too. Does Turtle Tech feel better?

I can totally edit the bio, I’ve just been copying their 1.0 iterations there.

Suggested edits. Wouldn't go with Turtle Tech unless you make something in the ability Turtle-specific.

I was going to say the same thing. It's a somewhat reusable power so unless adding something turtle related...

Maybe make it be adjacent Turtles instead of all allies and then call it Turtle Tech?

Or adjacent Turtles or figures with Science Keyword? IDW April qualifies for the keyword I think. She's Baxter Stockman's Assistant and uses her brain to come up with stuff with Donatello in the heat of the moment

Made Bats wording updates.

One thing I really appreciate about the 1.0 Turtles is that (outside of Leo) all of them are workable as generalist heroes, and I've definitely used them as such. So I'm kinda hesitant to limit it to Turtles only or Turtles/Scientists.

Would any of these names work for people?
Scientific Advantage
Genius Gadgetry
Genius Gizmos

Gadget Strike?

Is there any specific gadgets he's used in the comic that we can rep with this power?

Fwiw I think you could thread the needle by making the initiative boost based on adjacent Turtle Allies and still be plenty viable in other builds (since there are lots of ways to win initiative and auto wounds are always good).

Scientific Advantage sounds cool and resuable.

Re: Donatello (VOTE for Hold)

Seems like conversation has stalled here, so I updated to Brilliant Advantage. (Realized it might be smart to stray away from the word Scientific if Science is gonna be a synergy thing.) If that works for everyone, I propose we move to Initial Playtesting with all the Turtles!

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

Moving this over from Leo's thread:
I think it's one where, for the sake of elegance, I'd rather have a single trigger on it.

I *think* he could move 0 thanks to Mister Fantastic stopping his movement, trip Mister Fantastic, and then move with Combat Flip, though.
I've sat on this for about 24 hours and no immediate solution has come to me. I really like the gameplay beat of him being able to Trip someone then Combat Flip to optimal positioning, but I worry letting him Trip after his normal move creates some unnecessary timing confusion with Combat Flip.

We could let him Trip at "any point before, during, or after a normal move action" but that seems like a roundabout way to get the same thing.

We could also drop him down to 140 and bump another Turtle up 10 points? But that doesn't feel totally needed, and it doesn't feel like any one Turtle is outperforming the others so far.

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

We could also just lower the roll on it. Superboy and Flash can do the same thing with no roll.

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

We definitely could, I just really loved the matching 12+ rolls. Maybe a roll of 8? So it's not an automatic thing but it's still fairly reliable.

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

I'd go with 6 or 8, yeah.

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

Updated to Staff Trip 6!

Will try to get in a game with these guys in the next week or so, then I’m comfortable calling it!

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

Sounds like a plan!

Re: Donatello (Initial Playtesting)

Dig the changes and wording looks good to my eyes.
