Who is Peter Lee? Is he one of the designers?

He is to Dnd minis as CVN is to Heroscape.
No that is not a good comparison.
I actually was wondering the same thing. Could you shed a little light on this, please, Grungebob?
Peter joined Wizards of the Coast in 2008 as the lead designer for the D&D Miniatures line. Since then, Peter has worked on projects for the D&D Roleplaying Game, D&D Miniatures, Star Wars Miniatures, and Heroscape. Peter is also an accomplished miniature painter and sculptor.
;) WotC R&D according to his profile here.

Re: D3 DDM comparison pictures *Updated 10-21*

Being an old D&D Minis player I've known Peter Lee for some time. He at one point was the official D&D Miniatures trophy repainter (you can see much of his work here: http://coolminiornot.com/artist/Temperance) and when a job working for WotC for D&D Minis opened up her applied and got the job. When that line ended he was shifted over to other areas and he's been there ever since working on various projects but his first was on D&D Minis.

Updated again to include the Dragon and Giant. Also have an Ogre comparison shot.

"Hey, what's this squirt doin' here?"

"Don't call me a squirt Mimring, your only worth 150!"

Nice shots, I like the giant's bendable axe! It'll really hurt;)

Heh, yeah Mimring is kind of a big and stupid dragon. But the Large Red does look small next to him and big Z.

I love the frost giant and Moltenclaw. The Frost Giant looks great next to Jotun, so that's a nice surprise. Moltenclaw looks very imposing next to the WoA. He does look kind of shrimpy next to Mimring and Zelrig, but I can't see playing them together anyway. He looks more like he was designed as an encounter in a scenario than he does to fit into an army, like the older dragons.

I actually like the smaller dragons we have gotten. Not every dragon is a towering beast, and TBH I think Mimring and old Charos looked kinda stupid.

ugh, that ice troll is WWWAAAYYY too small, its so out of proportion! Raelin shouldnt be looking DOWN on the troll lol.

btw, i was just thinking about these sizes, thanks for the pics!

Why not? Ice Trolls are slightly shorter than Kyrie, about as tall as a human, but very stocky.

One of my problems with the sculpt is that he's looking down. All the big DnD monsters are looking down like they're confronting someone of human height, except the Troll is already tiny so hes just staring at his navel.

Maybe he's about to face a monstrous bug.

lol, if i had a hammer like that, id look like that when smashing bugs too
and im no dnd expert so i dont know about trolls, its just that in heroscape it looks a bit,mm, out of place.

That picture of the Frost Giant next to the Fire Giant clearly shows the size creep problem that D&D Minis suffered from. I guess we just have to think of the Frost Giant as the Mayweather of his race and the Fire Giant the Shaq of his.

You do realize that those figures are all D&D Minis next to the Large Red Dragon so comparing them should be about right anyway?

Giants in D&D range in size from just a bit bigger than humans, to towering titans that are as tall as buildings.

Ok, let me go look at the picture.
