That sounds okay to me although I don't think he is an acrobat in the strictest sense so some may take issue with it.

Figures without Superstrength roll one fewer die when defending against this special attack. When attacking with Wrist Spikes Special Attack , Spirit of Vengeance may attack up to four times.

I like it. The Deathcycle lets him break free from Blob/Doc Ock/Mr. Fantastic (but still take a LES) as well as fly pretty far to a new location when needed but otherwise the figure is grounded. The Fires power gives him an ability to reach out for a big attack, one that could stun the target. Might need to drop the additional wound to an adj. figure though. Then the Wrist Spikes SA is a good counter for swarms of common squads, which is why I would drop the additional would to an adj. figure aspect from Fires. No need for two different squad clearing powers. Is there an appropriate mini?
 
No not really. I think this is the closest but you would have to cut off the chain and I think it is an expensive figure.

Hopefully a cheaper Dan Ketch GR will be released someday.

The Fires of Kauri could be dropped for a Deathcycle SA. He has impaled at least two opponents with it. :)

I think it would need to be tied closer to actual movement via the Death Cycle if the idea is that he can impale someone. As it is worded right now he could reveal the X on OM1, then on OM2 and/or 3 would still be able to impale someone without moving at all. You don't even have to move on OM1 to reveal the X and impale someone. For an attack of 7 that can knock OMs off the targets card, I'd like to see a requirement that a minimum number of spaces are moved in a straight line before it can be used. That way it is more of a charging/ramming attack with which he can impale someone, preventing them from moving or attacking for the rest of the round.
 
You have to move at least one hex because the range is one and he must start unengaged. I thought about putting an additional movement clause in there but I was trying to keep the text down to a minimum.

I would be for a movement clause. It is a very strong power that fits the theme.
 
I had overlooked the starting unengaged part, that does insure some movement. I still like the idea of having him say move at least 3 spaces in a straight line to end his movement engaged with the target. Makes me think of a knight charging on a horse and impaling someone on his lance.

I like it but I am not sure about two Death Cycle powers and two SAs.
He also has carried up to two other humanoid figures on his bike.
That would make for a very nice team power.
 
I would drop the Wrist Spikes SA, knock his normal attack down to 5, cut out the OM removal bit from Fires of Kauri, and word the Death Cycle SA like this:

Thanks TB. How does this look. I bumped up Fires of Kauri to a Range of 3 which I think is still cool for a once per round power. That drop to his attack is going to lower his points quite a bit and force him into reforming and using Death Cycle each round if he wants to serve up maximum pain.
I like it and I think it will be fun to play. He is a reckless zealot and I think this design will play like that. Very cool.

I just saw this Twig figure posted over on the C3V thread. I think I'm going to pick it up and use it for a Groot figure. Still would like a full sized Groot tree (probably use an Ent figure from LotR), but he gets destroyed and is regrown from a clipping quite often so this smaller one would work for a different card.

Hey everyone, I was just at an antique mall and desovered a collection of Guardians of the Galaxy comic books, I was able to pick up most of the original run from 1990-1994, plus three of the four annuals. And I would love to offer my interest in the team to this project if I am allowed.
 
Definitely share your thoughts, that is what the thread is for. Unfortunately most of the key characters are drafted by a C3G Hero so they won't be designed here in a public forum. A bunch of the side characters are available for the public design thread though so start throwing some ideas around.
 
From what I've seen of the SoV, I think his design should be constantly on the bike, and it would be easy to do a simple head swap on that Lobo figure. The card could be simplified giving the chance for carry being added to the card rather than the power that manifests the bike. I just feel that if you have to waste an OM to make his powers useable, you aren't going to use the figure well unless he is the only figure you put your OM's on. I feel that we should fix that and make the impailment power force you to move in a straight line, for thematic reasons.

T-Spinney was the one working on that character and knows him, so I'd like to hear his thoughts. The first power is pretty clean and simple, which is a good thing. Second power needs to be worded to match up with previous similar powers but I understand what you are going for.

Any design is welcome! Never overstepping bounds if you're working on a write-up! :) even hero drafts, it's happened where a hero gives their draft to the public if they like where it's headed!

No apology needed. I am not beholden to the design and would love to see anyone LD it. Using the mini you suggested changes things a bit and I think you chose a nice direction. Carry provides a special niche for the SoV.

The only tweak I would suggest is that in the SA have it so the end of the move must be four spaces in a straight line. I would love to see the mod of the mini. I suspect that Lobo mini is not cheap though.
Oh and he needs SS.

I would vote for this design!
 
How does this sound?

DEATH CYCLE SPECIAL ATTACK
Range Special Attack 4+ Special. If Spirit of Vengeance begins his turn unengaged, instead of moving and attacking normally, he may use his Death Cycle Special Attack. Choose a figure within 5 straight clear sight spaces of Spirit of Vengeance, move Spirit of Vengeance adjacent to the chosen figure and attack the chosen figure. If Spirit of Vengeance began his turn 4 or more spaces away from the chosen figure, add 3 attack dice to this special attack.

FIRES OF KAURI
Once per round, Spirit of Vengeance may attack a figure within 3 clear sight spaces of him who is no more than 5 levels above his height, of 5 levels below his base. If the defending figure is destroyed by this attack, you may choose a figure that was adjacent to the destroyed figure, that figure receives one wound.
