Book: Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini - Book 3

It comes out in November, or so my friend says. I'm not sure if it's reliable, but she is an avid Inheritance fan. Still, I'd look it up if I were you.

Sorry for the double post, my computer had a glitch and posted twice.

It had better come out soon. If he waits much longer by the time it comes out most of his fan base will have moved on.

True'dat. I have already lost interest. Too much of a wait. Now, if he had released it a year earlier, I would rush to get it. As it is, I will wait until I can get it at the library, hopefully by November.

I lost interest while reading that last book. The whole thing felt unnecessary and boring. At this point, I'm not excited anymore to read the "final" book. He had something special with that first book and sold out the fans.

I'm planning on re-reading them over the summer just to get filled back in. It definitely doesn't have the same draw as it did though.

I think Paolini is a heroscape fan. In Inheritance, there is a dragon named Mimring also there are some other names very close to those used in Heroscape:
Tharos the Quick ~ Charos?
Tornac ~ Tornak?

I remember reading "Nilfheim" somewhere in the Inheritance Cycle. I would say that the chance of Paolini being a 'Scape fan is slim, however I can't help but wonder...

The Inheritance Cycle is one of the best series I have ever read... Paolini has earned his place among the writers such as Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.

I do believe that nilfhiem is somewhere in there but i feel confidant in saying it's a norse god. I also saw Mimring in Inheritance and grew curious myself. I found little to support mimring being used much at all before in any sort of fiction. no mention of the name really except for an obscure road. I believe he at least used the heroscape dragon for inspiration even if he doesnt play the game and merely found the name via the internet.

I seriously can't read your post without laughing.

Now now ABOM, be gentle. He's young, he'll learn ;).
At least I HATE the Hunger Games. I mean, the entire series is poorly written garbage.

For that matter, most Fantasy/Sci-Fi literature is really bad, full of cliches and one-dimensional characters.

I know, but the Lord of the Rings series is great, because Tolkien reinvented the entire genre. Then, crappy authors ruined it and it became what every teenager reads...

I know, but to place Paolini in the upper echelon of writers like Tolkien and C.S. Lewis is just plain insulting. I kinda enjoyed the Inheritence series, but there were many parts where I simply rolled my eyes at how he would copy off Tolkien and Star Wars.

But in Inheritance, Obi-Wan was his father, not Vader.;)

Good point. I used to really like the series, but I am pretty 'meh' about it now. I don't really even read fantasy literature any more, it is mostly poetry and classics like Kafka's Metamorphosis.

I'm currently reading the 4th book and I found some HS references in it, there is a man named Tornac, and a Dragon named Mimring mentioned several times! :D [EDIT: sorry this has been mentioned before, please delete this post]

Eh, I tried to read the 4th book, but it was very dry. Paolini (as he always does) wasted tons of space writing about trivial stuff with no importance. For example, he spent three chapters on a single childbirth, when he COULD have been developing the story.
