Bishop

Energy Absorb is a reuse from Damage, so it will need to be renamed with the effect being changed.

yea

This passes

Thanks for the reminder, I'll add an asterisk to the name for now and think something up later, as I assume we won't want to change Damage to match.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Two good wins for the mutants but in both games Mags rolled really well and Sabretooth did a bunch of damage too. Both figures benefited from Bishops move and attack boost. Bishop was able to use his SA in both games with more success in game 2. Energy Conversion only needing 1 shield with 5 defense pretty much makes him immune to range. I only bothered attacking him once from range because of that. I wonder if it should be limited to non-adjacent normal attacks? Other than that his stats and points seems fine. His 2 big wins had less to do with him and more to do with hot dice.

What are other people's thoughts here? I would like to hear some more opinions, especially from anyone familiar with the 1.0 design.

Before I can get around to my Bishop test I have a playtest I am planning on at least getting partially done tonight. Given my usual turn around on things it'll probably be a week before I get that in at the earliest, especially since I am in the midst of moving.

I'd be fine either way on carving out special attacks as a vulnerability in the ranged defensive ability. The big thing for me compared to the 1.0 version is he actually charges markers consistently now, which I like.

Make sure to link playtests to the OP!

5 Defense is fairly high for a 1 block negates all effect, so I could see changing it to non-adjacent normal attacks. It would incentivize enemies attacking him at range to charge you up a bit more, which you aren't going to get if he's blocking anything ranged. But yeah, I'd say see how you feel after your tests!

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I can safely say Bishop doesn’t feel overcosted and might even be a little high. I think Bishop is in an excellent spot; he feels much more consistently rewarding to use, and feels like he brings a lot more to the team with his mutant and lawman buffs, though he did lose out on some flexible positioning from 1.0. Speaking of those buffs, I think he has plenty of draft options open to him just via mutant factions, let alone any future lawmen options that might arise.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT:
Bishop is pretty much where I wanted him. He feels pretty good on a mutant team thanks to his buff, and with the changes that Bats helped workshop, his Absorption powers feel much better to play with. I know there were concerns about the single shield blocking all hits at range, both from special and regular attacks, but I feel there are plenty of counterplay options from using autowound abilities to just positioning units adjacent to Bishop. I don’t think that it was ever too much of an issue in 1.0, where he could pop onto the map into some hard to reach areas as well, and it didn’t really come up as a problem in my testing. One time, Marvel Girl threw an attack at range, but that was done more because she could rather than had to. I still feel like it’s not necessary to nerf Bishop, especially when his 1.0 ability mate is running around with the same leve

Based on the tests, how do we feel about the Points; keeping it where it's at or going down by 10 maybe? It's the only thing I feel we need to look at before moving on.

Wording suggestions. The additional attack's timing needs to be "after combat", as "after attacking" is after rolling attack dice but before defense dice are rolled.
