X.S.E. FIELD COMMANDER
If there are 1+ revealed Order Markers on this card, Mutant and Lawman allies have +1 Move and +1 Attack during their first activation this round.
CONCUSSIVE BLAST SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 5. Attack 3.
This ability has +1 Attack for each Energy Marker on this card. After combat, Bishop may remove an Energy Marker from this card to attack again with this attack action.
ENERGY CONVERSION
If Bishop has 1+ shields when defending against a non-adjacent attack, he ignores all wounds. After combat when defending, place 1 Energy Marker on this card, to a max of 3.
RELEASE NAME: Born into a dystopic future where the X-Men were betrayed and eliminated by one of their own, Bishop grew with his sister Shard. Eventually, Bishop impressed the Xavier Security Enforcers and joined their ranks, bringing his sister with him. After an impressive career, Bishop led a team of Malcolm, Randall, and himself for the X.S.E. called Omega Squad. On their last mission in the future, the trio chased a jailbreak orchestrated by Trevor Fitzroy to the present and were stranded there. The mutant criminals from the future killed Malcolm and Randall, leaving Bishop to join the X-Men, heroes he idolized in his time.

Yes, this is supposed to function like the 1.0 design, where the shield covers non-adjacent attacks only while he gets an energy marker from either as long as he receives no wounds.
Worth noting that Initial Playtesting is the next step! The 1st design step gets called a few different things, but probably most commonly it’s just the “Design Phase.”

Wording looks good overall! I'm pretty sure Order Marker is capitalized?
For the field commander ability, any reason it's restricted to just their first activation? Also, to be clear, it's just the first time that ally is activated during the round, not the first time any allies are activated this round, right?

Yes, first time that ally is activated, not first time any ally is. I had it limited to first for two reasons, 1, I'm trying to keep his cost in a range to hit an eventual 800 point X.S.E. and I know Shard already is going to be decently expensive for that build when I get to her, 2, I want the ability to incentivize using as many of his allies as possible a round instead of primarily using the bonus on one or two strong allies repeatedly. That second point works decently well with the bonding I have picked out for the X.S.E. and a Storm write up I have.
If playtesting shows he can just get away with raising the buffs past first activations without moving his points up too much then I'm certainly down, though.
I have a few things in my queue currently (Rex Plode, Tony Stark, Ra's, Black Canary (BOP)). I could put it in the queue after that and try to get through that as quickly as possible, but also hope someone else can beat me to it!

Map: CELL GAMES ARENA
Units: Bishop (190), Cyclops (240), Archangel (260), Wolverine (280), Multiple Man (Dupe) (30) (1000) vs King Ghidorah (1000)
Unit Summary: Ghidorah shredded Cyclops early and order marker management was tough for the X-Men from there. Bishop’s boost was good in theory but didn’t really do much as his allies all died too fast. His special attack popped off here. It seems hard and risky for him to charge markers, though, similar to how it was problematic in 1.0. When his whole ability set hangs on this, that’s a bit of a bummer.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Initiative X-Men, thanks to Cyclops revealing the X on Bishop. Cyclops moves up and shoots Bishop from range. Bishop off course whiffs and takes 1 wound instead of absorbing any energy. Multiple Man swings on Bishop and Bishop blocks to generate an Energy Marker. Bishop advances. Ghidorah advances and uses Gravity Beams to hit Cyclops for 4 quick wounds. Cyclops advances and uses his once per game special attack, which hits Ghidorah for 4 wounds. Archangel advances. Ghidorah uses Winged Lightning Bolts to finish Cyclops (who had OM3), wound Archangel, and wound Bishop. Ghidorah double attacks Archangel for 3 wounds, while taking a razor wing slash back for his fifth wound. Ghidorah takes out Archangel, while taking a sixth wound back.
Initiative Ghidorah. Gravity Beams puts 4 wounds on Wolverine and takes out Multiple Man. Winged Lightning Bolts puts a 5th wound on Wolverine and a third wound on Bishop. Ghidorah’s third attack is absorbed by Bishop, who loads up a second marker. Bishop uses his special attack and gets some luck, triple attacking Ghidorah for 5 wounds. Ghidorah finishes Wolverine from range then fails to hit Bishop, who loads up an Energy Marker. Wolverine had OM2 and OM3, so Ghidorah strolls over and rips off Bishop’s head.
Damage Done (Normal Attack): Inflicted [X] wounds on [X]
X.S.E FIELD COMMANDER: Attack and move boost felt [easy to pull off with Cyclops; ]
ENERGY ABSORB: Ignored wounds from a ranged attack [1] times, placed [2] energy markers, felt [hard to pull off and dangerous to attack him yourself]
CONCUSSIVE BLAST SA: Inflicted [5] wounds on [King Ghidorah], removed [2] markers for extra attacks, felt [good]
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): King Ghidorah with 11 wounds wins.

Map: CITY PARK
Units: Bishop (190), Rogue (350), Wild Child (120), Jubilee (60), Armor (100), Wolverine (280) (1000) vs JL Trinity (1000)
Unit Summary: Chatted with True after the first game and some misgivings and we agreed to change the absorption ability to let him absorb after he defends any attack, even if he takes wounds. I played that way in games 2 and 3. A low key thing I like about this change is it doesn’t feel quite as pointless to attack Bishop from range because you’re likely to charge him up some no matter how you attack him. With the change this ended up being a fun, close match, even if the X-Men didn’t quite cohere how I’d hoped (never did pull off the Jubilee attack of 2 from range to charge up Bishop strategy).
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Initiative Trinity. Wonder Woman advances. Bishop and Armor advance. Batman advances. Wolverine and Wild Child advance. Superman advances. Wonder Woman one-shots Wild Child with a tree. Batman takes height but can’t hit anything with a batarang. Rogue engages Batman and hits a skull on her damage die to absorb his abilities. Superman takes the wound instead. Rogue Angry Swings and puts 3 wounds on Batman and knocks him off height. Then Wolverine engages Wonder Woman and slashes her for 2 wounds. Bishop would hit Batman for a wound to finish him, but Superman saves him.
Wonder Woman uses a marker. Initiative Trinity after Batman uses a marker to steal it. Superman attacks Rogue from height but she stonewalls him. Wonder Woman punches Rogue for 3 wounds. Batman’s batarangs auto wound Rogue for a fourth wound but can’t hit her or Bishop (who charges a marker). Bishop double attacks Wonder Woman with his special attack, but can’t hit. Armor engages all the Trinity members but fails a (boosted) attack on Batman. Superman punches out Rogue, who had OM2. Superman punches out Armor. Wolverine slashes Batman and takes him out. Jubilee advances but can’t hit Wonder Woman or Superman with her special attack.
Wonder Woman uses a marker. Initiative Trinity. Superman slams Wolverine for 4 wounds. Wonder Woman takes a swipe to engage Wolverine but can’t finish him. Wolverine takes a swipe from Wonder Woman to move to even height with Superman, triple attacks Superman for only 1 wound, then heals 1 wound. Jubilee blasts Superman and Wonder Woman, hitting Wonder Woman for 2 wounds but Superman rescues her. Superman punches Wolverine down to 1 Life. Bishop fires at Superman from even height, but can’t hit. Jubilee hits Wonder Woman for 1 wound, but Superman blocks. Superman finishes Wolverine, who had OM3.
Wonder Woman uses a marker. Initiative Trinity. Superman engages Bishop and punches him for 2 wounds. Bishop charges a marker. Wonder Woman punches out Jubilee. Bishop uses his special attack on Wonder Woman twice, and would defeat her twice (5 wounds total) but Superman saves her both times, going down to 1 Life himself. Superman punches Bishop down to 1 Life. Bishop uses his special attack and finishes Superman but then has a 3 skull roll blocked by Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman takes even height and punches Bishop out.
Damage Done (Normal Attack): Inflicted [1] wounds on [Batman [1]]

Map: CONFLICT CHERNOBYL
Units: Bishop (190), Iron Man (270), Phoenix (230), Jubilee (60), Quicksilver (250) (1000) vs Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Elite Foot (1000)
Unit Summary: Foot had great luck here overall especially with bringing Elite back and Knife in the Dark rolls, but Bishop, despite not having dice luck with his special, felt like he was in a good place overall.
Game Summary
Spoiler Alert!
Initiative Foot. Bebop and Rocksteady and 2 Foot advance. Bishop and Jubilee advances. She attacks Bishop twice with her 2 attack version of her special. He whiffs once and takes a wound but charges two markers. Rocksteady and Bebop advance, each firing shoddy weapons at Jubilee, who takes 1 wound from the first attack and would fall to the second, but Quicksilver rescues her and takes a wound instead. 2 Elite advance. Phoenix engages Rocksteady and fails her Psionic Blast, but uses Bishop’s boost and punches Rocksteady for 3 wounds. Jubilee takes out an Elite and attacks Bishop to give him the rest of his charge. Rocksteady punches Quicksilver for 1 wound and he flies back. Bebop would defeat Jubilee from height, but Quicksilver takes his third wound and saves her. Two Elite advance. Jubilee takes a knife in the dark. Iron Man double attacks Rocksteady for 2 wounds. Bishop uses his special attack on Rocksteady, unloading for 4 attacks, but only inflicts 1 wound.
An Elite Foot returns. Initiative Avengers. Bishop’s normal attack can’t hit Rocksteady. Jubilee would defeat Rocksteady, but he’s too dumb to fall. Rocksteady wounds Bebop and falls to his own clumsy smash rather than hitting Phoenix (ouch). Bebop finally finishes Jubilee. Knife in the Dark hits Quicksilver for a fourth wound. Quicksilver uses his once per game ability and takes out two Elite and puts a wound on Bishop. Iron Man flies over with boosts and takes out an Elite and attacks Bebop, but missing. Bebop punches out Quicksilver and Shredder and the last Elite advance. Phoenix misses her Psionic Blast again and fails to hit Bebop even with Bishop’s boost. Bishop punches Bebop for 1 wound. Bebop can’t hit Phoenix and Shredder and the last Elite advance.
All three Elite Foot return. Initiative Avengers. Bishop can’t hit Bebop. Bebop punches Phoenix for 3 wounds and takes 1 back (her fires don’t hit Bishop or an Elite). Knife in the Dark hits Iron Man. Phoenix uses her Psionic Blast and knocks Bebop down and puts a 5th wound on him but her and Bishop both fail to hit Bebop with ranged attacks from height. Bebop can’t hit Phoenix. Knife in the Dark puts a second wound on Iron Man. Phoenix puts a sixth wound on Bebop with Psionic Blast but can’t finish him with an attack from height. Shredder can’t hit Iron Man with either attempt of his special attack, then he takes a swipe on his way to Bishop only to fail Knife in the Dark.
Initiative Avengers. Bishop can’t hit Shredder from height. Shredder takes a swipe but finishes Iron Man with his special attack and Knife in the Dark hits Bishop. Iron Man had OM2. Bebop hits Phoenix for 1 wound and Knife in the Dark finishes her. Her fires miss everything on both wounds. Phoenix had OM3.
Initiative Bishop. He can’t hit Bebop from height. Bebop can’t hit Bishop either and Bishop charges. Knife in the Dark hits Bishop. Bishop uses his special and on the second attack single taps Bebop. Shredder takes Bishop out.
Damage Done (Normal Attack): Inflicted [1] wounds on [Bebop [1]]
X.S.E FIELD COMMANDER: Attack and move boost felt [good]
ENERGY ABSORB: Ignored wounds from a ranged attack [0] times, placed [4] energy markers, felt [good]
CONCUSSIVE BLAST SA: Inflicted [2] wounds on [Rocksteady [1], Bebop [1]], removed [4] markers for extra attacks, felt [great]
Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Bebop with 5 Wounds, Shredder with 2 Wounds, and all four Elite Foot win.
UNIT SUMMARY: With the tweak after game 1, I really like his ability set. Three losses here but none felt unwinnable. I like how he plays overall. If he comes weak in public tests I could see a slight cost drop but I wouldn’t change his mechanics any.
Alright, like Bats said I'd like to make the following change and move to vote on public playtesting.
ENERGY ABSORB
If Bishop has 1+ shields when defending against a non-adjacent attack, he ignores all wounds. After combat when defending, place 1 Energy Marker on this card, to a max of 3.
