WA South 2024 NHSD Tournament

Dates/Times: Sunday, November 10, 2024. Games start at 1PM. Discussions and army talk start at 12PM. Please bring a snack to share. We will play until I get tuckered out - probably around 7pm. A duplicate event will occur in the north of Washington state on Saturday, October 26, in Everett, WA. Feel free to attend both events - some of us will

Location: Longy418's abode in Battle Ground, WA (about 25 minutes north of Portland, 170 miles south of Seattle). PM me for address if needed.

Format: Rolling Rumble and semi-competitive. No time limit per battle. When you are finished with a game, find someone else with a record similar to yours and engage. There will be 13 maps. Maximum of 26 people. There will be a number of newer players - please be patient and be helpful. We will keep track of wins/loses - the player with the highest win percentage with a minimum of 4 games will be the champion.

Prizes: None. This one is just for fun.

Armies:
  1. Point limit: 500. We are using Delta points. Please go to heroscape.org to help build your army using Delta points: https://heroscape.org/tournament/?Tournament=398 . Yes, just use the Everett event already set up to build armies. I will also have a number of pre-built armies on hand if you want to grab and play. You are not locked into one army.
  2. Starting Spaces: 24 Hexes. Airborne Elite and Rechets count toward the limit.
  3. Classic, C3V, SoV, and officially released AoA units are allowed. No NWHC, Marvel, or other customs are allowed.
If you want to reserve figures from our collection for your army, let me know. I have multiples of everything. I will also have pre-built armies for those who want to grab and play.

Previous Battle Ground events can be found in the Events thread. Here is a link to previous Everett tournaments over the last 8 years: https://www.heroscapers.com/threads/everett-wa-tournaments.53616/

This happens to be the weekend I'm doing a little family trip. I hope you all have an awesome day of Scape!

It has been a very long time. It will be good to see you again Toog.

We are up to 10 players, and we still haven't heard from a number of the old-timers or friends of the young-ins yet.

Pre-built armies have been added to the OP. This is the first time I have run a game day using Delta points. I had fun building armies with seldom used and some of the new figures. Anyways - there will be 27 pre-built armies. Grab and play. We have multiples of everything released. Build your own army and feel free to borrow figures for the day.

If you go the link for the army builder in the OP, I know it says it is for the Everett, WA, event, but the formats for the Battle Ground event is the same.

We are up to 15 potential players. We have room for 5 more. I will message the address to those of you who are new to the group in the next couple of days. We are just north of downtown Battle Ground.

These Nomad maps sound like some cool WoS reduxes... Hoping we can get some pictures of those.

And thank you for choosing Frostclaw Citadel for your event!

I will share the maps once they have been thoroughly play tested and I can post in my maps thread OP on this site. They are some twists on WoS and BoV maps that I used for inspiration. They all have the same footprint and can be pushed together to create multi-player maps, which we have done a few times. I didn't get a chance to play on Frostclaw Citadel in our Everett event, but I am hoping I do in the Battle Ground event.

Wow, we are up to 22 potential players. Time to find a few more maps to build. I will add them to the maps list in the OP once found. Half of the crowd will be relative newbies. Experienced players, please pair up with a newbie in the first match and teach them how to play with kindness and patience. We will have 27 prebuilt armies ready to go for anyone to pick from. If anyone needs any figures from my brother's massive collection, please reserve them with a response here. Also, if you have an extra chair or two that you can throw in your trunk, please bring them. I think we are OK on tables for now unless we get more, but it might be a bit crowded. We will be using both the upstairs and downstairs rooms for those who know the house. I am really looking forward to it.

Sorry to do this at the last minute but I won't be able to make it on Sunday now. Sorry about that.

Congrats to Dysole, who took the championship match running Zombies against Toogwick_tuk and his Protector army. Thanks to all for attending. It was great to meet 5 new players. Welcome to the group!
