A.I.M. Agents

Yea, I’m not sure about the longterm game health of the SA replacing the whole attack phase. Think it might be worth the few extra words to just have it replace all the attack actions.

I'm not sure what that looks like. Up for taking a shot at that wording?

Could work. Keep waffling about whether adding an "any" in there would make it clearer or less clear that you're giving up all of their attacks.

What’s the issue with swapping out an attack phase? I thought we’ve done that before.

I guess I just feel like we've avoided SAs replacing things like move phases, transitions, etc. so far. Anything that's not an attack action. Obviously an attack phase is a lot closer, but I still feel like it starts to blur the line...can't fully articulate why?

Could also do something like...

During your attack phase, if only 1 A.I.M. Agent attacks, you may...

But if nobody else feels like it's an issue and I can't articulate why I think it is, maybe it's not? I guess it just stuck out at me as "this is a new thing I don't think we've done before, let's vet it."

Personally, I think it's fine as long as there's no questionable rules stuff that comes up with it. We've replaced phases with other abilities before, so I can't think of any issues that would arise from replacing a phase with a special attack.

The rulebook says this:

Special attacks trigger instead of a normal attack action by default.

So I think as long as we clearly state that there is a different cost/trigger in that special attack (whether it be a move action, move phase, attack phase, etc.), it works mechanically.

(I also just think the attack phase replacement wording is a lot more clear. The other suggested wordings take me a bit to grok.)

Attack Phase to me reads as clearly it takes away all three attacks this activation from the squad as a trade for this one SA. The other seems iffier.

Instead of making normal attack actions with A.I.M. Agents during their attack phase, you may...
Maybe something like that?

this doesn't make it stone cold locked in as it can't be used 3 times in this activation. I could see someone feeling justified in arguing

I think the one place we've come *close* to basically swapping out an attack phase for a special attack is with VDOs where the driver gives up their attack phase to attack with the VDO (at which point they may give up the VDO's normal attack action to use a special attack action). Not completely apples to apples, but functions pretty similarly.

Wasp? She exchanges her move and attack for a Combat Dexterity type effect.

Checking here, is the verdict that the Special Attack is staying as is? If so is it ready for Art?

Figures on or within 1 space of the chosen space are affected, unless they are in the A.I.M. faction or have the Inorganic keyword. X is the number of your unengaged A.I.M. Updated, thanks. Sending to art.

I never updated the switch for their bonding from Terrorist to Mastermind. Updating that now.

Hmm, so at risk if feeling like "that guy" lately, I think I'm going to see if I can't push a bit for a different window art option on the AIM Agents similar to on Linda Park?

Nothing wrong with the art there, and I know we have the precedent of the Hired Henchman, but I think for most common squads, we try to put multiples in the window. Like the Gorilla City Warriors and Hydra Agents are perfect there.

I think a visual that tells the end user "hey you get a bunch of these guys not one" feels helpful? Like if other folks vastly prefer the current version, I don't have to die on this island, just felt like a missed opportunity to have multiple dudes on a fairly swarmy card.

nah, that's a valid point. I'll see what I can work up. I like the style of that image but you make sense there.
