TOURNAMENT DETAILS

Bring 2 Tournament

• For this event, each player will submit three 550-point armies with no more than 24 hexes. The three armies cannot share any figures. (C3V/SoV eligible, no Marvel.)
• The Tournament team will remove one of your 3 armies based on playtesting unit need and to ensure equal playtest unit usage in the tournament. This will leave your other two armies to be a choice in all of your games. The removed army will not be used.
• Each Submission is required to have at least 1 C3V playtesting unit (See Below for C3V playtesting Unit). You may have a playtesting unit (or more) in each of your 3 armies, but at a minimum you must have a playtesting unit in 1 of the armies.
• Each player will then bring 2 armies into a pool of 4 armies for each matchup
• Before each game, there will be a dice-off, done by the tournament organizers. The winner of the dice-off chooses first army choice or second army choice.
• Whoever has first army choice may choose any of the four armies (either of their two or either of their opponent's two, or defer the choice). The other player may then choose from any of the other three armies.
• The loser of the diceoff will then choose whether to place his army first or second.
• Rounds will last 2 weeks, after each round players are asked to leave feedback for each Playtesting unit in their game.
• 4 Rounds of play. Followed by playoffs for all those who finish with a record over .500
• **Tournament Organizer reserve the right to request participants use edited powers as the tournament progresses as the data suggests modifications. Participants may refuse the edits.

Q: Would the Fortress Door roll fewer defense dice if adjacent to a Child of the Dark Star?
A: No, Otherworldy Stench is not an attack nor a power that causes wounds, so it does not affect destructible objects.

Q: If a figure is adjacent to three Child of the Dark Star figures, two owned by one player and one owned by another, how much is its defense reduced?
A: Two is the maximum reduction from Otherworldy Stench, regardless of which players the Children belong to.

Good game with BB just now. He took the win comfortably.

The biggest keys to me was 1) the Acolytes could never get good forward position as the Mohicans kept killing all the forward ones, so I was forced to summon Corvor at an inopportune time

2) BB excellently utilized War Cry to keep engagement as they necessitated at optimizing attacks. Huge to bring down Corvor.

Here's the gritty details:

Gameplay

Round 1
Caylus opens to boost some Acolytes into jungle cover, but it doesn’t help as Mohicans fire away getting some good hits, killing 2 Acolytes and 1 hit on Caylus

Round 2
-Acolytes charge, but get nothing done. 2 more acolytes fall to Mohican fire.
-Corvor is forced to enter the battle (killing the 5th acolyte on summoning). He kills 2 Mohicans. The Mohican fire doesn’t slow down though putting 2 wounds on Corvor and killing another Acolyte. Kolbjorn bonds and attack the demon, but is blocked.
-Acolytes are all out of range so move up, Corvor kills a single Mohican. Mohicans all fail, but Kolby puts 2 more hits on Corvor

Round 3
Big Initiative switch, Instead of Corvor moving away from Kolbjorn’s range, he is a sitting duck/demon monster thing
-All attacks only put 1 more wound on Corvor (5), Acolytes continue to do no damage, but Corvor kills another 2 Mohicans
-Acolyte shields come up strong, Kolb gets another wound on Corvor (6). Acolytes get a kill on a Mohican and Covor hits Kolbjorn for 2 wounds.
-Corvor is killed by Mohicans and another Acolyte. Acolyte attacks are blocked

Matchup: 10 Acolytes, Caylus (4), Marcu vs. Kobljorn (3), 9 Mohicans, Van Nessing, Bol

Round 4
-Acolytes move and are blocked. 1 Acolyte is killed

-Kolbjorn is the best Tribesman design to date, makes the activations more meaningful, even more so than the Makwa hero

-Caylus makes the Acolytes far better, I will say. But it wasn't scary enough to target him over the squad like you would with other cheerleader figures like Taelord, Raelin, Andask etc.
