TOURNAMENT DETAILS

Bring 2 Tournament

• For this event, each player will submit three 500-point armies with no more than 24 hexes. The three armies cannot share any figures. (C3V/SoV eligible, no Marvel.)
• The Tournament team will remove one of your 3 armies based on playtesting unit need and to ensure equal playtest unit usage in the tournament. This will leave your other two armies to be a choice in all of your games. The removed army will not be used.
• Each Submission is required to have at least 1 C3V playtesting unit (See Below for C3V playtesting Unit). You may have a playtesting unit (or more) in each of your 3 armies, but at a minimum you must have a playtesting unit in 1 of the armies.
• Each player will then bring 2 armies into a pool of 4 armies for each matchup
• Before each game, there will be a dice-off, done by the tournament organizers. The winner of the dice-off chooses first army choice or second army choice.
• Whoever has first army choice may choose any of the four armies (either of their two or either of their opponent's two, or defer the choice). The other player may then choose from any of the other three armies.
• The loser of the diceoff will then choose whether to place his army first or second.
• Rounds will last 2 weeks, after each round players are asked to leave feedback for each Playtesting unit in their game. There may be additional days allowed for games to be played during the Conline Championship week to allow enough time for those who would like to participate in both to do so.
• 4 Rounds of play. Followed by playoffs for all those who finish with a record over .500
• **Tournament Organizer reserve the right to request participants use edited powers as the tournament progresses as the data suggests modifications. Participants may refuse the edits.

Each person who completes their 4 regular season games is eligible for a prize.

When a Child of the Dark Star you control is destroyed, you may place its figure on the Army Card of any Unique Outsider in your army. For the remainder of the game, once per turn after rolling the 20-sided die for a special power on that Army Card, you may remove one of your Children of the Dark Star figures from that card to reroll that 20-sided die.

A: Two. The first player's Child would reduce the defense by one, and the second player's Child would reduce the defense by another one, for a total of two.

Q: Would the Fortress Door roll fewer defense dice if adjacent to a Child of the Dark Star?
A: No, Otherworldy Stench is not an attack nor a power that causes wounds, so it does not affect destructible objects.

Q: If a figure is adjacent to three Child of the Dark Star figures, two owned by one player and one owned by another, how much is its defense reduced?
A: Two is the maximum reduction from Otherworldy Stench, regardless of which players the Children belong to.

I would love to play however I will be gone for one week during the tournament. But since we have two weeks to play the games do any of you know if I would be allowed to play in the tournament.

For sure. Rounds are every 2 weeks to get in 1 game and were very flexible if something requires a bit of extension past that. Sign up away!

I can sign up, but want help making armies. @kevindola - by looking at early entries are there any playtest units underrepresented?

someone please suggest two 500 point armies for me each with at east one playtest unit. I will come up with a non playtest army.

Is this tournament open to someone who is fairly new to competitive play and the custom figures? I recently got back into the game and have read up on most of the classic figures. I have been able to play at home, but have no tournament experience (I played competitive X-Wing for a few years though). I also started to check out some of the customs, mostly from the newest release, but I have not had a chance to read through a lot of the older releases.

Maybe someone else is better suited to answer your questions, but I believe so. The format for this is 1 game every 2 weeks, so there definitely is more time to prepare and get things scheduled.

If you'd like to brainstorm some armies together and include the new units, I'll be happy to help!

Tourneys are a good way to learn C3V because you learn them 4-6 cards at a time (per game) and you have days in advance to read them. Much easier than an in-person tournament for picking up the figures, I've found.

Looking forward and happy jumping in. I jumped in a few tournaments ago. The group is very friendly! Let me know if you want to do a practice game early this week. I have lots of time (I'm a teacher on summer with adult kids!).
