CANARY CRY FOR JUSTICE
If Black Canary or an allied Unique Hero in her clear sight receives 2+ wounds or is defeated, choose 4 spaces in a straight line from Black Canary. Roll a d20 for each enemy on or within 1 space of that line. On a 14+, that enemy receives 1 Sonic wound and you may remove 1 unrevealed Order Marker from its card.

Need to fill out the rest of the OP still, but wanted to get the ball rolling on her with the basics.

We still into her recruitment as being focused on Strategists? We still like her as a Leader?

I *think* the wording is good. Hopefully doing the damage type in the text by where it says you do the wounds works, but if folks prefer a different aesthetic, let me know!

Is there potentially a more useful way to run her 1st power? Like, I know Toy once had the complaint that she's a bit squishy for an OM hub type? Any thoughts there?

Leader seems fine. What all does Strategist offer?

Well, I did nix the requirement to have a Justice Marker on her card in order to use the Order Marker ability. And, yeah, she's a tad squishy, but she also shouldn't be front line, IMO. She should be second wave after you get some other figures engaged and you can move her into the fray to finish off enemies.

Teams around her are mostly about all-out offense with like Hawkwoman on the front line recharging, Canary popping up for extra attacks, Green Arrow shooting at anyone in front of his allies, and then Atom popping for auto wounds to finish off wounded enemies. As long as you strike first and show no mercy (Cobra Kai) you'll be fine.

But, yeah, if someone wants to start zone bomb you and you haven't built any defensive stuff around her and she misses her Canary Cry, she'll go down like a sack of flour and not do much. I think that's OK, though. She's perfectly usable and viable as is, she just has some strengths and some weaknesses, like any balanced figure.

I really like her Order Marker flex ability. It brings a unique playstyle to the game and it's fun to build around. I wouldn't change it, personally.

Obviously Oracle is the big get for the thematic builds, as you can put OM1, 2, and 3 on Canary and if she dies, she dies, since Oracle is backing her up, plus you get that Secret Attack Plan in there and a better chance at initiative wins.

I'm not too worried about the Robot pairing, just because I think he makes her OM flex ability less worthwhile. He does give some team bonding in the middle of things and can carry her up, both of which are nice, but you can build her Into the Fray stuff on top of other bonding activations already, so it's nothing game breaking, IMO.

I could see adding Strategists in 2.0 as well. Like if we end up scrapping Protege and doing JSA some other way, someone like Michael Holt Mr. Terrific could be a Strategist as his "in" to the League.

Ronin seems to have signed off on the damage type before the wound inflicted use in ability text. Just capitalize the damage type and no [] needed.

Couple of quick things:

1. Currently INTO THE FRAY stops the ally she's working with from any movement on its activation. We also have the option to just stop movement during their move phase if we want to. This type of thing would be relevant with, say, a Green Arrow (JL) pairing, because currently he wouldn't be able to use Acrobatic Movement if she's working off of his activation, but if we changed it to only stopping the move phase, he could, and that feels like some nice soft synergy.

2. Do we feel any playtesting is needed here with the recruits Strategist change? It doesn't feel super game changing to me, but I'm open to counter theories on that or concerns. My predilection would be to vote directly to art from here.

From my experience (which isn't deep with this list) the only Strategist that bring something to the party would be

Oracle
Robot
Grid

I don't think Oracle is breaking anything that you can't already get from other JL pieces
Robot - I'll defer to others as I've actually never gotten the figure.
Grid, he's interesting and kind of generally useful.

I'm surprised you don't think Rocket II brings anything to the table. I'd be interested in playing him in a JL build with his power set. That said, I don't think it warrants new testing. It could just be a fun new team up I hadn't played before.

I haven't played Rocket II. I did preempt my post with saying my experience with this group wasn't strong. As in I've only played half of them.
