SETUP:
The Upside Down is intended to be played in addition to other battlefields. If a scenario or Army Card references the Upside Down, place the Upside Down beside any other battlefield in the play area, unconnected.
Players that controlled any figure/s with the Upside Down special power at the start of the game cannot receive a victory point for the Upside Down.

SPECIAL RULES

Toxic Environment
At the end of each round, each figure that occupies the Upside Down without the Environmental Suit or Magical Defense special power receives one wound.

Portal Escape
If any figure in the Upside Down ends its movement on an Exit Space, the player that controls that figure must place it on any empty space on any other battlefield in this game.

Upside Down Bio - As far as we know, what has been termed as "the Upside Down" is another dimension parallel to our own. Through cold war tensions and secret government research, a gate was opened and we were exposed. The dimension appears to have been quite similar to our own, but all organic life is somehow controlled by a hive mind-like entity. Now that the fabric separating our two realities has been tampered with, there is no telling whose motivations are at play or what the consequences will be.

-Rulings and Clarifications-

This Extra Battlefield is to be played using the Battlefields Divided scenario within The Book of Removing Terrain Rules. As such, the following additional rules also apply:

• Each battlefield is considered a separate battlefield for the purpose of any special powers. Special powers that refer to "the battlefield" refer to the battlefield that the figure or glyph currently occupies. If that figure does not occupy any battlefield, "the battlefield" may refer to any battlefield in play.
• Figures, glyphs, etc. that are on separate battlefields are not considered to be within clear sight of each other, or within any number of spaces of each other.
• If a battlefield exists at the end of any figure's turn without any figures occupying it or any special powers in play referencing it, that battlefield is no longer considered in play.
• Victory conditions apply to all battlefields separately, and are not resolved until they can be resolved on all battlefields simultaneously.
• Each winner of each battlefield is awarded 1 victory point. If a battlefield was occupied only by figures drafted by one player or team at the start of game, that battlefield is worth 0 victory points. The player or players with the most victory points are deemed to be the winners of the game. If no battlefield can award victory points, the game cannot be played.

• Each winner of each battlefield is awarded 1 victory point. If a battlefield was occupied only by figures drafted by one player or team at the start of game and is won by that player or team, that player or team does not receive a victory point. The player or players with the most victory points are deemed to be the winners of the game.

So uhh.... Let's imagine a 2 player game, Player A drafts a normal army, Player B drafts all Demogorgons (or Demogorgons plus some figures that start off the battlefield)

Since all the Demogorgons start in the Upside Down, player B has nothing on the main battlefield at the start of the game, and thus Player A can't score a point for the main battlefield?

Technically the game would immediately end in a tie in that situation. Bit weird, but I didn't change that.

I thought victory conditions were checked at end of turn?

That's true, so the Demogorgon player could prevent the immediate tie, then, but only if they win initiative.

Or if Demogorgon player drafts Nick Fury and drops him on the main battlefield before the first initiative to ensure the end-of-first-turn tie doesn't happen.

So is it kinda tantamount to just not smart drafting like Rechets without Iskra/Constructs without Lanterns?

Oh that reminds me, I should do a @Warp summon before I forget. Look over the stuff when you have time.

If you drafted all Psyches, you'd auto lose, since you'd be giving them over to your opponent's control at the start of game. If you drafted all Psyches and Psychic Projections, you'd lose after turn one, since the ones you did control would die due to no tethers.

There are definitely some ways to stupid draft yourself into a loss. Interesting that here you can stupid draft yourself into a tie, so way more competitive.
