The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger Scourge of Apollyon - C3V Wave 22 - Blood and Smoke ![]() Basic Side Army Card
Spoiler Alert!
PDF download for printing. The figure used for this unit are Heroclix figure from the Elseworlds set. The figure name is Gun Fighter (or Gunfighter) The figure is also available with a different face as Clockwork Man. Biography : For all the tall tales of hero gunslingers, bringing justice to the West - people don't think about the other side of it, do they? The grimy gunners in saloons, camped out at the ridge at night. Nameless, faceless. Nothing to lose but their lives. And willin' to make it hard as hell for the guy tryin' to kill 'em. Workin' for money, power, sometimes just booze. A hired gun. Fallin' through the cracks. Put in with the wrong crowd. Do they got any other options? If they do, they don't see 'em. Best option they got is throwin' in with whatever outlaw is promisin' a stake in somethin'. Even if that somethin' is just another day. Quote:

Re: The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
If you successfully roll Quick Draw 17 for a common squad figure or a hero with one life left, I am assuming he dies and therefore cannot attack - is this correct? If that is the case for a common squad, does his targeting count as an "activation" - i.e. if you have more figures (that you did not move) can you attack with them? To help, we can look at the precedence of Nakita Agents official FAQ.

Re: The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
I think if you choose a figure to target an opponent, you have activated them. So, with Smoke Powder, they aren't destroyed and can choose a different target, but with Quick Draw, they don't get that chance because they are dead. They have to be activated to trigger Quick Draw.

For What It's Worth
I agree with mac122. You're allowed to choose a new potentially valid target if Smoke Powder hits. If Quick Draw hits you're SoL.

Re: For What It's Worth
With Smoke Powder, you are allowed to re-target, but you must do so with the same figure, or give up that figure's attack. That still counts as an activation.
Similarly, a figure killed by Quick Draw counts as having been activated. |

Re: The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
I think you could in theory target a Gunslinger and then target someone else after it hits you with Quick Draw, if you were alive. Charging up Evar for example.

Re: The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
We have previously ruled contrary to this; i.e. that targeting is part of the attack process, and retargeting is only allowed in the case where the original figure targeted can no longer be legally attacked. There are various reasons why we chose this but the short answer is it avoids some bizarre potential issues.

Re: The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
@Heroscaper Guy
add bio above and also add this under Rulings and Claifications:
If you successfully roll Quick Draw 17 for a common squad figure, does that squad figure count as "activated" for attacking even if he/she/it did not move? YES. When a figure "targets" before an attack, it is activated and counts toward a figure used during the squad's turn, even if it did not move or get to attack. Re: The Book of Tombstone Gunslinger
So I’m thinking TG x4, Josie, Laglor is what you want to build off of. If you’re running Raelin maybe go down to 3 TG’s if you want to.
Taelord’s also a mean option at higher point totals. You could try the cheerleader trifecta of Laglor/Taelord/Raelin. MW fit at 600pt.; TG x4, Josie, Laglor, Raelin, Taelord, MW, 10pter. No screen just pure long range firepower. I don’t think I’d play Garret Burns with them, or in general. He’s just not very good. I guess you could make the argument GB is safer from common range with quick draw, but I like Josie’s offense way more, especially with Laglor and/or Taelord. And I don’t really care to add both, 10 more points and you can just have Raelin. |
