Its model number and name are #001 / Atrocitus. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Millions of years ago, the Guardians of the Universe created the robotic Manhunters as their intergalactic peacekeeping force. But after a programming glitch, the Manhunters rampaged through Space Sector 666, eradicating almost all life—including those of Atrocitus' wife and children, who died brutally before his eyes. One of the massacre’s few survivors, Atrocitus swore revenge against the Guardians. But despite his considerable strength, skill and efforts, he was captured and imprisoned by the Guardians as they hid their horrendous mistake from the universe. Locked away for years, all that kept him alive was his hatred, until at last it consumed him. Atrocitus harnessed the red energy of rage and through blood rituals forged a Power Battery, creating the Red Lantern Corps. With a veritable army at his command, Atrocitus seeks his revenge—intent on killing every last one of the Guardians and willing to cut down any force that stands in his path of vengeance. - DC Comics _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
NAME = RED LANTERN
SECRET IDENTITY = ATROCITUS SPECIES = RYUTAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = RAVAGER PERSONALITY = VENGEFUL SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 6 LIFE = 7 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 6 DEFENSE = 6 POINTS = 400 BLOOD OF YSMAULT 2 Start the game with 2 red Battery Markers on this card. Add one to Red Lantern's Move and Attack numbers for each red Battery Marker on this card. Whenever Red Lantern receives one or more wounds from an attack or the Blood and Rage special power, if there are fewer than 2 red Battery Markers on this card, you may choose any red Battery Marker that is not on an Army Card and place it on this card. RAVAGER MOTIVATOR After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Red Lantern, if an enemy figure received one or more wounds this turn, you may take an immediate turn with any Ravager Hero you control within clear sight of Red Lantern. If an opponent's Unique or Event Hero was destroyed this turn, you may instead remove a red Battery Marker from this card to take an immediate turn with up to 2 Ravager Heroes you control within clear sight of Red Lantern. BLOOD AND RAGE If Red Lantern would receive one or more wounds from an attack, you may instead choose to place any number of those wounds on the cards of any Ravagers you control adjacent to Red Lantern. Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
Seems pretty straightforward! Small wording addition I'd suggest for clarity:
RAVAGER MOTIVATOR After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with this Red Lantern, if an enemy figure received one or more wounds during this turn, you may take an immediate turn with any other Ravager Hero you control within clear sight of this Red Lantern. If an opponent's Unique or Event Hero was destroyed, you may instead remove a Battery Marker from this card to take an immediate turn with up to 2 Ravager Heroes you control within clear sight of this Red Lantern. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
Super cool! I like the restrained bonding a lot. My only concern is that he'll steamroll armies made around lower costed units, such as Vigilantes, Crime Lords, or Crime Fighters. With him being so tough, and allowing him to distribute wounds, he'll keep charging up his power tactically to maximize his markers. And if he can take multiple turns with other heavy hitters, weaker guys won't stand a chance.
But I'm fine to see how he does in testing, I'd just like to see him tested against some armies like that! Dig the design though. ![]() |

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
To be fair, I feel like that's the case with a lot of higher point designs. Most armies comprised of 150 point and below units, don't stand much of a chance against armies comprised of 300-400 point units.
That said, I feel his points are likely to fall around the 400 point value, so we will see how it all shakes out. Their defenses aren't great for the most part, so beyond Atrocitus' ability to share wounds to adjacent allies, it shouldn't be too terribly hard to pick off the troops. |

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
Yeah, Superman consistently does that to 150 and lower figures, and he's 400, so I don't think that'd be out of bounds (one of the reasons we've since made a lot of Superman counter designs, though!).
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
Superman generally only has one attack. This guy here is giving 3 whole turns (Possibly with multi-attacks? I'm not real solid with these guys yet).
For balance, technically any sort of army build should be decently equal to anything else in points. Obviously that's not always the case, but that's how Event heroes are built too. Every army shouldn't NEED a big heavy hitter to be viable, in my opinion. That's a tangent though. Being good against certain figures is one thing, while wiping the floor with an entire army type is too much. I just want to see that it's not too much. ![]() |

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
Sure, obviously if testing has him steamrolling things consistently, that's an issue that will lead to tweaks.

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Atrocitus) (II) (Breathing)
Fwiw 380-400 feels just about right when I put him through the calculator. 6 defense, 7 life is something that an efficiently put together team of mid-level Heroes should be able to put down for the count. He doesn't have any defensive powers to speak of.

Aside from deflecting any and all wounds to adjacent allies?
