His greatest enemy was the dreaded Roman Empire - something that changed when the Vine, a race of intergalactic conquerors, arrived on Earth. Taking Aric and his scouting party aboard their ship as slaves, he was forced into brutal physical labor, until his rebellious spirit could no longer be restrained. While leading a violent uprising, he stumbled upon an ancient alien artifact called Shanhara and immediately bonded with it. Aric didn't hesitate to use this sentient weapon system, the X-O Manowar armor, against the Vine. However, he was forced to escape, leaving his captured tribesmen behind in the process. He returned to Earth to find things had changed more than he had ever expected. While in timeless captivity, more than 1600 years had passed. His world, his people, his family - all gone. Now, learning to control the most powerful weapon in the universe, Aric takes on a new mantle - the last champion of the last Visigoths. _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
NAME = X-O MANOWAR
SECRET IDENTITY = ARIC OF DACIA SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CHAMPION PERSONALITY = PROUD SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 8 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 7 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 410 SHANHARA ARMOR 3 Start the game with 3 blue X-O Markers on this card. X-O Manowar adds 1 to his Range and Defense numbers for each X-O Marker on this card. After X-O Manowar receives any number of wounds, before he would be destroyed, you may remove an X-O Marker from this card to remove up to 2 Wound Markers from this card. VISIGOTH RALLY Once per round, after moving and before attacking with X-O Manowar, you may choose up to 4 unengaged figures you control and move each chosen figure up to 4 spaces. These figures must end this movement adjacent to either an enemy figure or X-O Manowar. SHEER FORCE After attacking an adjacent figure with X-O Manowar, if the defending figure rolled defense dice and did not receive any wounds, you must attack that figure again. After attacking three times in a single turn, place a Wound Marker on this card and X-O Manowar's turn immediately ends. SUPER STRENGTH FLYING Older Designs:

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
Made some minor wording tweaks from where we left off, but mechanically he should be about the same. I know LV has the figure around somewhere - not sure if any changes have been made since we last got a sample.

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
Seems like you're missing an "and" in Sheer Force.
SHEER FORCE After attacking with X-O Manowar, if the defending figure rolled defense dice and did not receive a wound, you must attack that figure again with X-O Manowar, rolling 1 additional die for each time he previously attacked this turn. If more than 8 dice are rolled when X-O Manowar attacks, if he has attacked more than once this turn, he receives a wound. X-O Manowar cannot attack more than 3 times in a single turn. |

I see some Axe Cop influence there.

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
I've got the mini, but I do want to layer some more paint on the shoulders (which I forgot to do originally). I won't be able to get to that till next week though.

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
Also, the armor has been shown to heal the host. I'm thinking it might be good to have that here. 4 life is super thematic, as he is a normal human under there, but at 390 points with self-wounding, 4 life is...scary.

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
I could see a "burn an X-O Marker to heal a wound" mechanic in there. But the card is already getting pretty heavy, so I'm not sure what to cut there. Maybe trim Righteous Defense some?

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
Awesome to see this guy finally going! I do agree with the life being risky for such a huge power character. I have a feeling he's going to be extremely swingy.
I wouldn't mind seeing 5 life here just to ease that swingy-ness. Healing could work, but yeah we're getting kinda crowded. |

Re: The Book of X-O Manowar (Design Phase)
That extra life or two could represent a healing factor of some sort.
