Character Bio – What makes a Hero? Is it being able to fire lava blasts from your hands and utilize null gravity to fly into the heavens? Is it having a connection to the Earth so strong that you can draw your life force from the rocks beneath your feet? Is it the ability to move and shake the Earth itself? Is it sharing the same blood as other heroes, like Terra, or bravely defending your kingdom, like that of Markovia, against evil threats like Baron Bedlam?

No, being a hero is fighting for justice, alongside friends like Black Lightning, Looker, Halo, Katana, Metamorpho, and even the Batman, and together doing what others are unwilling to do, even if that means becoming Outsiders!

GEOKINESIS
Start the game with 2 single-hex rock tiles and 2 single-hex lava field tiles on this card. After moving and before attacking, you may choose an empty land space within one space of Geo-Force that is within one level of his base. Place a tile from this card on that space, if possible. After placing the tile, roll 1 unblockable attack die against each figure without the Earth Strength special power that is within 2 spaces of the placed tile, one at a time.

RALLY OUTSIDERS
When a Unique Hero you control is destroyed by an enemy figure, you may immediately place any unrevealed Order Markers on any of your Army Cards on this card. For the remainder of the round, after revealing a numbered Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Geo-Force, you may immediately choose and take a turn with up to two other Unique Interloper Heroes you control.

EARTH STRENGTH 1
Geo-Force never rolls for lava field or molten lava damage. Add 1 to Geo-Force's attack and defense while he is on a lava field or rock space.

Earth Strength could probably have a number attached, a la Water Strength. The healing in that power also feels a little extra to me.... might be worth dropping that to streamline.

The splash range on Geokinesis is going to make him a little hard to use at times, I think. Interlopers do have some range to em, but they also like getting in close to leverage their Counter Strike-iness. So the "within 2 spaces" thing might make it hard for him to swoop in and plunk a tile down sometimes. I don't think that's unthematic, but it might be a dynamic to keep an eye on in testing.

Really solid direction for the character overall.

Good notes, Ronin. I really want to hear from japes before changing Earth Strength. The healing is definitely thematic, but not essential if we need to trim.

On the splash range for Geokinesis, I’m imagining he’ll be held back a lot, especially in bigger games until some other units are dead. But yeah, 2 spaces might be difficult to work around.

One potential idea I had for a Rally Outsiders nerf would be to make one of the turns have to be with Geo-Force. I don’t think it meeds nerfing right now, just figured I’d throw that out before I forget.

Yeah, going "before taking a turn" rather than "instead of taking a turn" and narrowing it to two turns instead of three would make some sense. I think I like that, as if he's trying to rally them, thematically he's doing it by being active.

OK, officially in the Design Phase now. I'm mulling some potential tweaks, but really hope @japes will chime in before I do (especially on changing Earth Strength or the keyword for Geokinesis).

Once I get that all figured out, if we're feeling set, I'll run the checklists.

I still have a few public tests to do before an initial here and I want Halo wrapped, so I'm not in a huge hurry.

In the meantime, hopefully more folks will have a chance to chime in. It's been slowish around here.

Placing a land tile will be a real gamble since it is after moving and adjacent to Geo. You could be giving high ground to the enemy.
Is there someone that bonds that could go after him to claim that spot?

Currently, Rally Outsiders will allow for another team member to grab that high ground.
