The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark)
The Book of Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) C3G DC WAVE 32 YEAR OF THE HERO ![]() Comic PDF ![]() Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the DC Origins set. Its model number and name are #63/Wonder Girl and 207/Cassie Sandsmark. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio – “Cassandra originally received her powers from a number of mystical artifacts employed by Artemis during her time as Wonder Woman. These included the Gauntlet of Atlas and the Sandals of Hermes, which provided her with the powers of strength and speed/flight, respectively. She was eventually granted similar abilities by Zeus as "her fondest wish". Discouraged by previously shown arrogance in his children (Ares and Heracles), Zeus also blessed Cassandra's mother with the ability to take away her powers for a short time via a simple touch. “Shortly after joining the Teen Titans, Ares approached her and gave Cassandra her own magic lasso. Unlike Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth, Cassandra's is a weapon which channels Zeus' lightning when she becomes angry [….] Cassie was trained by the Amazon Artemis and is extremely well trained in the use of various weapons and in various martial arts. She is also a very capable leader and strategist” (Wikipedia 2019). _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) - Breathing Period
I like her overall. Very simple, and the Lasso takes up a lot of mindspace, but I don't know the character enough if she has anything "else" going on. I don't think so though, in my experience she's just kind of Wonder Woman lite, right?
I assume species might be a sticking point here... and I know there were some recent talks about Confident having synergy down the line so maybe consider that here as well? JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) - Breathing Period
As I said before, as a mythology nerd, Olympian sits wrong with me. I really feel as though Demigod is a far better option here.

C) Demigod (gendering a species leads to madness)

Re: Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) - Breathing Period
A) Olympian. I understand LO’s point but I think the die has been cast on that topic. Herc is an Olympian, Brand is a Mutant and so on. I should also say that actual mythology and comic book translation of that mythology is hardly a 1:1 sort of deal.

Re: Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) - Breathing Period
Quote:
With Hercules, Olympian could actually work depending on whether the version of him in C3G has apotheosed to full godhood yet as he did in mythology (his powerlevel leads me to think he has, but I don't know Marvel canon with regard to this chap). Here? I'm not seeing it. |
