Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
NAME = BUD AND LOU
SPECIES = HYENA UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE SQUAD (2) CLASS = COMPANIONS PERSONALITY = WILD SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 3 LIFE = 1 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 70 HARLEY'S BABIES After revealing an Order Marker on Harleen Quinzel's Army Card and before taking a turn with Harleen Quinzel, you may take a turn with Bud and Lou. You may not take any additional turns with any figures you control other than Harleen Quinzel. PACK TACTICS When a figure engaged with both Bud and Lou rolls defense dice, you may subtract 1 shield from whatever is rolled. AGILE CLIMBING Bud and Lou can move through all figures and are never attacked when leaving an engagement. When moving normally up levels of height to move onto a space with Bud or Lou, do not count a space for the first level. You may ignore Bud and Lou's height of 3 when climbing. Bud and Lou never take falling damage or major falling damage. Last edited by Arkham; December 16th, 2018 at 11:09 PM. |

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
Pretty straight forward design, they should sail though pretty quickly I would think.

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
For anyone interested, from what I can tell, the figures for Bud and Lou are pretty much identical.
![]() ![]() Lou seems slightly cheaper, but both are in the ~$5 range. There's a ton of D&D/Pathfinder/Reaper hyena figures out there though. Looks good to me. Any reason you went with Medium over Small? JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
No real reason. I'd be fine with Small.

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
That is an interesting question, how do we differentiate between small and medium in C3G? They are short yes, but long and they may weigh as much as some of the teenage sidekicks we have. I could see either designation working here.

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
That was my thought process. Spotted Hyenas are on average 98-140 lbs.

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
I'd say 100ish pounds is right around the small/medium line. But that's conjecture and not backed up by any precedent, necessarily.
Is it completely thematic for them to avoid major falling damage? How high does something have to be to be major falling and not extreme? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
I'm not a massive fan of keying purely into a specific character when it can be avoided - I feel better about it here as we at least have two versions of Harley to choose between, but still, when the Joker Goons work with any Insane person, the Killer Penguins work with any Crime Lord and the Animated Vines work with any Plant Animator, this feels weird.

Re: The Book of Bud & Lou (Breathing)
I'm usually against it as well, but it has precedent (like Cupid's Arrow in the World's Finest set, for instance). In this case they're really just her pets, so I can see the justification. I think our specific character call outs must still exist in fewer than 1% of our designs overall.
