Nine's Custom Expansions (01-01-2017)

Bold title I'm sure but looking past that I've been delving into custom territory now that my Heroscape collection is almost complete (still looking for wave 4 and a few others call me if you wanna trade). Please view the cards I have listed below, once tested by myself and the community I would honestly like these units to be considered in other people's games. The figures I'm using are easily accessible through sites like Reaper so that anyone can use them. Thank you for viewing and I am widely open to constructive criticism.



First up is something I had on my mind for a while. I understand the hate for Valkrill but I can't say that it makes sense to be honest. I feel that ignoring the fluff, Valkrill makes an excellent General for Undead and Demonic units, whereas I'm sure many would prefer to see something like this in Utgar's army, I feel he is more Brute Force and Hive Mind centered. Either way, this card recycles several Specials from other units to include Thanos' infamous Rejected by death.

I can hear you now, pointing fingers at the low cost of the card and shouting "HERESY!" but believe me, I think I've thought this through. His health is low for a Unique Hero, rivaled by the likes of Isamu, Deathwalker 9000, otonashi, etc. I believe his low HP gives the Rejected by death more acceptance whereas he won't be overkill as much as a nuisance.

Next is his low defense and attack. defense is low to make the user more weary of tactics when using him. But the attack is where Thanatos really gets complicated. see while he has low attack, he can get buffed with Blood Frenzy, making him a dangerous unit to damaged Heroes. but blood frenzy only boosts when attacking damaged units, and who can't get wound markers? SQUADS! AGH! making Thanatos a high risk factor when placed near attacking squad figures as his retaliation is going to be weak.

I justify stealth flying with being able to get places without hving to commit to a fight. and getting to where you need the figure to go in a hurry, and if the figure is destroyed, he may get a second chance to take out a Hero.Please feel free to tell me what you think! and by all means, test the figure out. I will be doing so once i recieve mine in the mail and paint it.

I compared this card to the following units:
Thanos, Shades of Bleakewood, Feral Troll, Crixus, Isamu, other misc.

UPDATE: changed the card a bit, made his personality Relentless, and changed the figure to something less exclusive(even though it looked way better...) http://www.trollandtoad.com/p149600.html (figure used)
used the card creator to make it more readable, changed species to undead, changed class to wraith,

This next card is meant to boost up a Wolf/devourer team, a team I often use so I couldn't help but want it.

Spoiler Alert!

She is meant to be a strong unit against both ranged and melee attacks thanks to the one shield defense, but melee fighters beware as doing damage to her will set off any nearby devourers, this includes the likes of Anubian Wolves, Retchets of Bogdan, and Shades of Bleakewood. I based her stats off of Crixus who I feel is an excellent melee character who also has one shield defense.

Please ignore the fact she is actually a Gnoll... I just liked her design. figure is the Demonic Gnoll Priestess from DnD.

Please help me with the wording of Leader of the Pack, I was unsure of how to get my point across properly. Let me know if you see any loopholes or know of any similar specials that you feel would fit it better. Was considering to change the name to "Pack Leader" as well.

I compared this card to the following units:
Khosumet, Shades of Bleakewood, Wolves of Badru, Crixus, Anubian wolves, Rechets of Bogdan, Werewolf lord, Kurrok the Elementalist, Krug, Greenscale Warriors, other misc.

I apologize if anything doesn't quite fit in with CsV or SOV, I only recently started looking into the forum and I'm still getting used to it.

Rejected by Death can be powerful but it rarely triggers. I think 60-points is fine.

What about making the Time Keeper Relentless, so he bonds with the Death Knights?

I think that makes him more versatile and effective.

What figure are you using?

ooo...yes...I like that...bonding with death knights seems appropriate for this custom

The figure i used is the reapermini 25th anniversary grim reaper.

If you go with Death Knight bonding that will also help your Rejected by Death if you have other bonding heroes.

One OM - but two rolls for Rejected by Death (RbD)

- Take a turn with Skull Demon (roll for RbD)
- Take a turn with Death Knights (roll for RbD).

Its funny you say that, because my friend's luck says otherwise XD i dont let him use Thanos anymore.

Does that really count as two turns? I guess it makes sense since its technically a turn within a turn. Hmmm that sounds like a good tactic, anyway this could be abused?

Looks good! My suggestions:

• Change his species to Undead. It's more generic and there are powers which target / are immune to Undead.

• Shorten the name to Thanatos (or refer to him as Soul Reaper Thanatos throughout.)

• I highly recommend the X-2 Card Creator (see the software forum) for creating the text part. It will make it easier to read and more official looking.
