The Book of Evergreen Tree
The Book of Evergreen Tree C3G MARVEL CHRISTMAS SPECIAL WORLD WAR WINTER ![]() Card PDF The destructible object used for this unit is a Heroscape terrain piece from the Road To The Forgotten Forest Expansion Set. _________________________________________________________________ Object Bio - Temperate evergreen forests are common in the coastal areas of regions that have mild winters and heavy rainfall, or inland in drier climates or mountain areas. Structurally, these forests are rather simple. They support an herbaceous understory that is generally dominated by grasses and herbaceous perennials, and are often subject to ecologically important wildfires. _________________________________________________________________ -Type of Destructible Object-

Re: The Book Of Evergreen Trees - Design
Cool.
![]() Since no one can throw anything that is HUGE, I don't see any need for a size designation. Could this get confusing though trying to subtract range, while counting range, while counting attack dice, while checking line of sight etc? Would you be opposed to just a +1 Defense? Re: The Book Of Evergreen Trees - Design
I'm definitely not a fan of the subtracting range mechanic ... way too much to wrap your head around mid-battle, IMO. I think keeping these things "light touches" is much nicer - these would feel like a bunch of Count Vertigos floating around.
![]() So something really streamlined like a defensive bonus would make me a lot happier. In fact, since jungle trees give you a +1 versus ranged attacks and are less sturdy, maybe these should give you +2 and +4 (for the big one)? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book Of Evergreen Trees - Design
The jungle gives defense bonus because it offers great camoflauge, but Evergreen Trees allow you basically hide behind them altogether. And that is the problem in a way, in trying to create a power for them - they already work as a "power" in offering line of sight blocking.
Maybe the way to go here is with a TIMBER power that could potentially crush (deal damage with a single attack die for the all the trees and 2 attack dice for the biggest one) all adjacent figures when it is destroyed. ![]() |

TIMBER
When this Evergreen Tree is destroyed, roll 1 attack die separately for each adjacent figure. The affected figure receives 1 wound if a skull is rolled. TIMBER CRASH When this Evergreen Tree is destroyed, roll 2 attack dice separately for each adjacent figure. The affected figure receives 1 wound for each skull rolled. |

Re: The Book Of Evergreen Trees - Design
I like the Timber power.
Fire Weakness could also work on these cards. With Fire Weakness Pyro could burn down a whole forest with Living Flames SA. I know keeping DOs simple and one power is a priority though, and I agree with that thought. |

Which do you prefer Timber or Fire Weakness?
