Compatibility Discussion
OK, I figure we should wait 2-3 months before we release our Classic Compatibility Compendium (so everybody realizes it was our idea all along)
First order of business then: Should we recost C3G figures or Classic figures (we have about the same number)? After this has been decided, we can divvy up the figures into 3 committees of 3 Heroes each. Each committee would review all possible combinations of army builds using each of its units, looking specifically for synergies, both explicit (Death Knights/Wolverine) and implicit (Deathreavers/Civilians), and then reporting back to the group their recommendations for recosting. |

Re: Compatibility Discussion
Clearly we should recost Classic ... it's widely agreed that Taelord and Raelin, at the least, could use it.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Compatibility Discussion
I agree, we should recost the classic figures. We'll have to rope in the C3V project, too, to make sure they're in line with C3G.

Hmm ... that one's going to be tough. A lot of the old timers are going to be real hard to convince.

Re: Compatibility Discussion
Since there's some brainstorming going on here and I had an idea, I'm going to shamelessly abuse the combination of my Admin position and my ERB status to pretend you would want me to post my input. Instead of trying to reprice one or the other, I'd like to see C3G create unique classic "teams" and price the team. It offers a lot more balance control, adds theme, removes old timer objections and allows you to control potential synergy problems. Since you're repricing the teams, you can also give them a "team ability" if you want.
You could even have contests to build interesting and balanced Classic teams for use in SuperScape. Make a limit that you cannot use more than one classic team with any given component and viola! You've solved the multiple common squad spam problem as well. I think this potentially lets everyone use their Classic figs with C3G without causing more headaches than its worth. ~Aldin, who hopes his intrusion is warranted He either fears his fate too much or his desserts are small That dares not put it to the touch to gain or lose it all ~James Graham |

Re: Compatibility Discussion
Intrude away Aldin. I can get on board with this, being an old-timer and all.

Re: Compatibility Discussion
Sorry for taking so long to respond, Aldin! I was really trying to let this idea settle in my head.
![]() So what might some "teams" be? 4th Mass x4 to go with Captain America? Marcus and Roman Legos x2? Raelin, Q9, and Rats x3? Or are these bigger teams than you had in mind? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Compatibility Discussion
Well, Rats for example make an awesome screening force and would be perfect with Supers, but they're at a big disadvantage against special attacks and the higher attack values of the C3G figs. So you could do something like:

Re: Compatibility Discussion
Not bad. And Magneto could definitely use both a meat screen and someone who might be able to mindshackle the Prof ...

Re: Compatibility Discussion
I think he's got a decent idea, but I still believe we should look at the Classic game's grossly mis-costed figures.
So I'll open the discussion with Taelord for 140. |

Re: Compatibility Discussion
I'd honestly pay 200 for Raelin. And rats should be at least 65 each.
