Re: The Book of Lex Luthor
NAME = LEX LUTHOR
SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = MASTERMIND PERSONALITY = DEVIOUS SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 3 POINTS = 100 RED KRYPTONITE CONTROL After moving and before attacking, you may choose any Kryptonian Hero figure within 4 clear sight spaces of Lex Luthor. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 6 or higher, take temporary control of that hero and immediately take a turn with the chosen Hero. At the end of that turn, control of the chosen Hero returns to the player who controlled the Hero before the Red Kryptonite Control. All Order Markers that were on the chosen Hero's card will stay on the card. CRIMINAL DECEPTION If a Criminal figure you control is within clear line of sight of Lex Luthor, Lex Luthor cannot be attacked and he will not take any leaving engagement attacks. VILLAINOUS ENTRAPMENT Lex Luthor and all Criminal figures you control within clear line of sight of Lex Luthor each roll one additional die against each figure leaving an engagement with them. I think the biggest controversy with this one may be the Red Kryptonite Control being an automatic thing as oppose to a D20. Any thoughts? Last edited by IAmBatman; August 18th, 2019 at 02:03 PM. Re: The Book of Lex Luthor
I'd be more comfortable with a d20 roll on that one. I am so stoked that a la carte has started!

Re: The Book of Lex Luthor
I'd like to see it work on a D20 roll of 6 or higher - it should work most of the time thematically, but Superman's will power should at least have a chance of winning out.
We made Magneto's Magnetic Throw work on 6 or higher, so that seems like a good place for powers that should work most of the time but we don't want to work all of the time. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Lex Luthor - Design Phase
I do like the choice to go with red kryptonite as opposed to green, though, given the sculpt (and the unlikelihood that we'd have a good candidate for a red kryptonite power anywhere else) and I like how he fits into the criminal faction well with his other powers.
Given my knowledge of some of your plans for the criminal faction, though, I'm happy to see he's a mastermind, and not a crimelord (and I think mastermind is a better thematic fit anyway). C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Lex Luthor - Design Phase
100 points seems a bit low for being able to control Superman.

Re: The Book of Lex Luthor - Design Phase
On the other hand, 100 points is also kinda high to be able to take a turn with weak old lex just to take a turn with Superman who has to be within 4 clear sight spaces. I don't think the power is as expensive as you may alarmingly believe, especially since it is so very niche.

Re: The Book of Lex Luthor - Design Phase
At 4 Life and 3 Defense, if you catch this guy unadjacent to any friendly Criminal figures, he's going to die in one punch many times against heavy hitters.
That said, I do support him being able to be successful with his Red K mind control attempts the majority of the time. I think a nice "power check" D20 roll that's fairly low will keep it balanced, though. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Anyway, Lex seems so niche that I'd only draft him if I was facing Superman and if I was facing Superman, he's probably worth more than 100 points. |

Re: The Book of Lex Luthor - Design Phase
I'd draft him with a Kryptonian ... I'd also draft him with the Criminal Faction once it's rounded out more and the true power of just being a Mastermind becomes clear (there are big plans in play for the Criminal Faction).
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
