Toronto Inter-NHSD EVENT!!! OCT 17th

Hello Fellow Canadain Scapers

Looks like we will have our own NHSD (National Heroscape Day) Event. It will cost 10$ to play and we have room for 10-20 players. The Event will take place at Dueling Grounds: www.dueling-grounds.com. They are at the corner of Bloor and Dufferin and there is "free" parking a short walk away at the Dufferin Grove Mall. You can get full directions at their website. We will be meeting at 11:30 and playing from 12:00 till we are done, which I hope will be around 6~7.

I don't yet have the specifics of how the Tournment will be run, But rest assured that the organizers will have a very fair and interesting gameday planed. Prizes will be awared to the day's winners including more scape, possibly including some exclusives. Expect more information to follow in the comming days. If this event goes well we might be looking at a quarterly event in Toronto.

We are also looking for people willing to help set up who can bring a few master sets to create maps. If you would like to help out please send me a PM.

INTERNATIONAL HEROSCAPE DAY INFO

Date: Oct 17 2009, set up 11:00, Registration 11:30, Start 12:00. Ending approximately 6:30

Location: Duelling Grounds, Toronto ON. Corner of Bloor and Duffrin. Free Parking a short walk away at Duffrin Grove Mall. For more info visit www.dueling-grounds.com

Cost: $10.00

Army limits: One Pre-drafted 525 point army, Unlimited Start zone (if you are bringing more than 24 figures please also bring additional tiles to expand your start zone. These tiles will be placed by the Tournament Administrators before game begins.)

Restrictions: Marvel and customs figures will not be allowed. Repaints using official figures are okay.

Goal: Kill the maximum points of your opponent’s army, without him killing yours.

Winning conditions: At the conclusion of the game you will add up the points for your remaining figures. The value of each squad figure will be calculated based on the point value of the squad divided by number of remaining figures rounded down (i.e. Each Deathreaver is worth 10 points). Heroes will be calculated based on the points value divided by remaining life points (A Two life Major Q9 would be worth 90 points). Mindshakled and Stabbed in the Back figures are considered Destroyed. The player with the most points subtracts their opponents total from their own to calculate Points awarded for the victory. (thus if you have 100 points and your opponents has 90 points left you get 10 points for the win). After 3 round robin games the 4 players with the most points will proceed to the finals. Ties will be decided by 20 sided dice

Game length: Maximum 7 rounds of play. After 50 minuets of play, players will be alerted to complete their current round. Points will be calculated regardless of which round is complete. Since both players will have had equal opportunity to attack players completing only 4 rounds of play are capable of receiving more points than players playing a full 7 rounds.

Maps: Maps will be randomly selected by the Tournament Administrators for fairness and size. They will Include one master set and one standard expansion. Please be familiar with Rules regarding Snow and Ice, Lava, Jungle, Swamp, Water, Castle and Road Movement.

Glyphs: Maps may include one or more randomly selected Glyphs. Glyphs Start faces down until activated by a player.

Rulings: Questions regarding rules will be settled at the discretion of the tournament Administrators. If this is still unsatisfactory disagreements will be settled in the THUNDERDOME! Two men enter, one man leaves.

Prizes: There will be some fabulous Heroscape Prizes available; we are also welcoming any donations to make the pot more interesting.

ATTENTION: PLEASE PM or EMAIL me if you are attending I need to know numbers ASAP. If we have enough committed players we may get additional prize support.

"Inter" National Heroscape Day Update

Looks Like we are going to have a great Scape day in Toronto. We have 16 confimred Players with another 4 expected.
Some of those attending are: Wriggz, Sarpedon, CaptainCanuck, mccombju, JonShadow, paull510, Firemaster, JohnT161, hurrican, fetidsockpuppet and a few others. It looks like a lot of skill will be showing up, so bring your "A" game.

Schedual:
11:00 Set up: everyone is welcome to help
11:30 Registration and Rules statment.
12:00 Start playing. If you miss this start time you will forfit your first game.
12:00 - 4:00 4 Random Round Robin games.
4:00 ~ 6:00 2 tournment Games with the top 4 players competing for victory. Other players are welcome to play other games at this time or watch the final.
6:00 Prizes Awarded and Clean up.

Please Bring:
- 10$
- Your Army (and tiles if required),
- Dice
- Wound markers
- Order Markers

You may Bring:
- Drinking Water
- Laser pointer
- Dice box or Tower (these will be inspected and approved for use by tournment directors so don't get upset if your 50 pound, meter tall tower is not allowed).

I Wanted to up date everyone on some minor rule details:

1. Glyph Pool: dagmar(Initiative +eight), Gerda (Defense +1), Valda (move), Kelda (Healer), Lodin (Lucky Twenty-Sider), Ulaniva (Unique Attack +1), Glyph of Erland (Summoning), Glyph of Oreld (Intercept Order)
2. We have confirmed Road, Lava, Tundra, and Jungle maps so be prepared.
3. We are still doing the unlimited start zone and 525 points. If your army needs more than the basic 24 start spaces please bring extra tiles otherwise you will have to discard the extra figures. Tounrment Adminstrators will be placing the extra tiles and they will try to be fair, but be warned extra tiles will be placed at the rear of your start zone putting your army at the disadvanatge.
