I havent read through everything here yet, but if you are still considering the cocoon idea, why not make it a simple range (i.e. roll 15-16, replace this cocoon with the Goddess, 17-18 replace this cocoon with the Magus, 19-20 replace this cocoon with Adam Warlock.) I know we already have a Magus Heroclix and could possibly be getting a Goddess Heroclix.

I'm worried that one doesn't read very clearly, even though it's actually pretty simple.
More spitballing: how about this?
INFINITY WATCH
When rolling for initiative, you may choose one opponent's figure within 8 spaces of Adam Warlock and add the Life number on that figure's Army Card to your roll. If you do not, subtract 4 from your roll.
He's actually going to end up hurting init rolls a lot in early game, killing synergy with "if you win initiative" units. Against most figures this will offer only a modest bonus, but will help with initiative switches when the action starts. Against big baddies it means Warlock can basically assure his team of an init win.

It reads very clear to me. Though 8 spaces seems like a lot though you still need to roll a die which makes it not a sure thing. You have good odds at getting a first to second round initiative switch with the -4 to the first round and +4-6 on average for the second.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

Magus is an alternate reality Adam Warlock, yes. Goddess is another related character, who could also conceivably emerge from a Cocoon, but is not Adam Warlock. If we wanted the Cocoon to work for Goddess, we could re-word it like this:
ENCLAVE COCOON
You may only draft this card if you have a Artificial Human Hero in your army that is not Dormant. At the start of the game, choose an Artificial Human Hero in your army and place that figure on this card. At the beginning of the game you may place this figure on any empty space that is not in a startzone.

DORMANT
Players cannot place Order Markers on this card or move with Enclave Cocoon. All figures may move through Enclave Cocoon and Enclave Cocoon is never considered engaged with any figure.

COCOON OPENING
When this figure is destroyed, switch it with the Artificial Human Hero on this card. At the end of the round, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 13 or higher, you may destroy this figure.
I'm willing to do this but I don't think it's really necessary. AFAIK Goddess was never depicted as being in a cocoon, even if she's the same "species" as Warlock.

EDIT: On the other hand, Her/Kismet/Ayesha was in a Cocoon, and she's probably more likely to get made into a C3G design since she appears in the latest Guardians of the Galaxy movie. So maybe something like this is worth doing?

Changes/Status:
  • I went ahead and added the most recent version of Infinity Watch. Still open to other twists or additions to that power.

  • I condensed the Soul Gem stuff to one power. At first I really wanted to keep both powers, and I love the coolness of the other Soul Gem interactions, but at the end of the day I don't think it carries enough heft in gameplay to justify the space on the card and the complexity of it. This is a classic "kill your darlings" situation, I think.

  • I am still considering a replacement/adjustment to energy transmutation - it might be cool to make that power something that could be a common power for Magus and Ayesha, kind of like Cosmic Awareness for the Captain Marvels.

I'm really digging that version of the card. I think the -4 when no threat is in range should help dampen the Joker team up idea as then you could be losing initiative fairly often as well. Maybe adjust the numbers after some testing but it seems like you are on the right track.

Not much to contribute ideas wise for the Cocoon, not sure if I'll use it at all myself, but I do wonder why you are letting everyone pass through it. Why not make it a road block figures must move around? Then it could be used to plug up a single hex path or narrow down a 2 hex wide path to single file.

He mentioned earlier that this was the exact reason he did it. He didn't want a cheap DO to be able to command that much power in the game.

I agree it's probably not that big of a deal, but if you just take those words out then friendly figures can still move through it, which is weird. I guess you could swing the other way and make it a true obstacle.
