I now listen to Kreator, Slayer, Metallica, Children of Bodom, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, and Exodus. I mostly listen to thrash though.

Lately I've been listening to the new Amon Amarth album, but I mostly get into the old stuff. Slayer, Metallica, Sepultura, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden. New metal is kind of hit or miss with me.

Never heard Metal, but from what I hear (perhaps I should say 'have been told') I don't like it. I mean, really. Who feels compelled to listen to somehting that can potentially hurt your speakers (or headphones) and people screaming? Does not sound good at all to me. Of course, on a thread like this, I bet people will reply to this faster than I can (not too fast).

Personally I need to music to kick my but a little. I am a very unmotivated person. Although I dont listen to anything with screaming in it, doing the dishes with classical jazz in the background would pretty much lead me to suicide.

Love Amon Amarth. Death metal/Viking metal - very thematic. I think Fate of Norns is their best work. Play counts closing on triple digits for most of AA songs.

My musical tastes really run the gamut, but only metal has the power to make you snarl and head bang.
