Comments on this army
With getting ready for Christmas (will have family from out of town staying with us and of course the last minute shopping), I haven't had a lot of time to play games with my son lately. My Mom got him the Flag Bearers for Christmas, so we havent' had a chance to play with them yet. After Christmas I am sure we will have some time to play some good games.
Usually we play themed armies (e.g., general specific) and he likes elves, so he usually picks Ullar. My idea for a 500 point Jandar army (well actually 495): 2x 4th Mass 2x Knights of Weston Sir Gilbert Finn or Thorgrim (not sure which probraby Finn) Eldgrim These are all valiant, so the 4th Mass get the Valiant bonus, it gives me 3 human champions for the Knights to bond with, if(when) Finn goes, he can boost the 4th Mass even more, and Eldgrim can boost the move of the Knights -- of course Sir Gilbert can also make the Knights faster or be used to get the 4th Mass in position without them moving on their turn (giving them the wait and fire bonus). And Gilbert can also boost the attack of the Knights, Finn, and Eldgrim. It also seems fairly well balanced -- 8 ranged figures / 11 melee and 4 squads / 3 heroes. So does this look like a good army to go up against what will probably be: Acolarth Aubrien Archers Morsbane Syvarris Warriors of Sarah -- I mean Ashra (he will probrably double up on archers or warriors - or leave out Morsbane and double up on both) Any thoughts? |

Instead of Finn and Eldgrim you could toss in Drake - same price, valiant, and death vs. non-special ranged attack units.

Sounds like something I'd try out. The 4th Mass was my first multiple common purchase.

Thanks for the comments -- I missed the spirits only worked on uniques. Dang -- I knew it sounded too good.
Will have to re-think these now. Maybe if I can fit Sgt Drake or Alastair in there somehow? Their both Valiant and human champions -- may have to go with only 1 squad of 4th Mass and/or Knights. |

Reprint Marcus out onto a Jandar card and make him a valiant champion. He'll make your massachucets super sexy
Probably not best to cheat your kids though. Im itching to try out an identical army, myself, and that final blotch of points ive been debating. Im going with 2x Knights 2x Mass Sir Gilbert Alastair Mass get the bonus, and I feel that Alastair is a great guy to have for a real battle. As long as your opponent cant beat you at range and prevent your advance (WoA and Syvarris will be a problem ), you ought to be ok. Keep those knights trundling on and have the Mass clear out those pesky amazons, and all should be well. On my command, fix bayonets. |

Plus McDirk can still bond with the knights. He's a great hero. Definetely choose him over drake. It's a solid army, should crush the elves. but try that army against an arrow grut/krug army sometime and see how it goes
