Re: Seattle Area Gameday - Saturday 5/16/09
Thanks for bringing maps and figures yesterday! The draft was cool as well, glad that we had a chance to try it out.
I might not be able to make it to the June event but I'll keep you posted. Also, I'm looking for the following, if anyone is selling/trading: Anubian Wolves (1 squad) Tagawa Samurai Archers (1 squad) Gorillanators (1 squad) Krug THANKS! *Kai |

Re: Seattle Area Gameday - Saturday 5/16/09
Thanks everyone that showed up last Saturday, I had a blast.
As promised, here is the teamdraft lineup! For those who are out of the loop, we are looking at bringing the draft back to Heroscape. The draft doesnt normally work at a gameday or tournament because there are so many figures that takes to darn long and you have to pick many many times to create your force. The team draft solves this problem because everyone only has 2 picks, an A Team and a B Team. Points and power rankings dont matter anymore, only your teams' strength on the field of battle. To get this started, every player participating in the draft will roll their D20. The highest roll starts the draft and picks an A Team, then the second highest roller picks an A Team until the lowest roller picks an A Team. Then the lowest roller picks their B Team, then the next lowest and so on. So the highest roller gets the first and last pick, and the lowest roller gets 2 picks in a row. In the end, every player should have one A Team and a B Team. Here's the list! Quote:
If you go by the point values written on the cards, the average army size is 554 points. The largest possible army is 640 (A7 + B10) and the smallest possible army is 500 (A14 + B1,B9 or B13) If played in a tournament, and the game has to stop on time you should total the number of figures destroyed. Each squad figue is worth the amount of points written on the army card divided by the amount of figures shown on the Army Card. For instance, each Marrden Hound is worth 30 points and each Omnicron Sniper is worth 33 and 1/3 points. The player that destroyed a higher point total of their opponents army is victorious. Thank JanderSunstar and Elian for suppling the figures and terrain last time, I just made sure they showed! Next time I really want to try out this draft system, so study up Last edited by CornPuff; May 20th, 2009 at 02:20 AM. Reason: formatting |

Re: Seattle Area Gameday - Saturday 5/16/09
The only suggestion I would see is to put the minions into an A team so that there is some contention for Taelord.
A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to. |

Re: Seattle Area Gameday - Saturday 5/16/09
I know, when we played there were 9 snipers in the A group, and taelord was with minions, those were the two groups I drafted

Re: Seattle Area Gameday - Saturday 5/16/09
Hah, that was a little imbalanced for sure You controlled a 690 point hill that rained death on the map. The new Omnicron-Taelord army is 100 points less then what you controlled, but still pretty strong.
Taelord-Zettians-Deathwalker will also be an interesting combo. Zettians that with range nine that hit for 3 and 4 attack dice, before height. Even without his minions, I think Taelord has a lot to offer to any ranged army. Imagine Raelin-Gurei Oni-Agent Skahen vs Omnicrons and Talord. Every shot goes to ranged counterstrike or 5 dice of stealth dodge . The system will definitely be modded, tweaked and extended, but I want to keep it as is until we get another play through. Saturdays playtest was awesome and drove a lot of changes. |

Re: Seattle Area Gameday - Saturday 6/20/09
We are planning on being there for the whole event this time (unless we have to work for GOA...) I think we are trying out Tommy's army selections before the next tournament.

Unfortunately I won't be here for this months gameday, I'll be in the Mediterranean so most likely no Heroscape
