If you're going to chew gum, bring enough for everyone.

Don't pull the kitty / doggy's tail.

It's okay to color outside the lines, but not on the walls.

That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons, even death may die.

We used to put our daughters to bed with Bible stories and it just so happened that the day my older daughter was in trouble for writing on the wall with crayon that we had the story from the Book of Daniel about the "Handwriting on the Wall." Her question, "Why is it OK for God to write on the wall, when I get in trouble for it?" was answered with the (quibbling) answer, "God's writing just fades away all on its own, but yours had to be scrubbed off." Mene, mene, tekel, upharsin.

Re: What got you into Heroscape?

I could have sworn that I replied to one of the other threads about this but, I guess not.
I saw the commercial on Cartoon Network in something like February of 2005 and thought it would be fun for my kids and I. Luckily, a couple of my friends enjoyed it with me and I shortly stumbled onto .net. Wave one came out within a month and I was hooked.
That's the short and sweet of it and it has been a sweet three years.

Here's to many more.

I <3 HeroScape tournaments!

Um...Rev....God's words should be permanently imbedded in everyone's mind, heart and soul and nothing should ever wash them off or allow them to fade.

Re: What got you into Heroscape?

My reason fro getting into HS is a bit different. I originally bought the game for one of my foster kids for Christmas. This kid was a very bright twelve year old, but very difficult to engage. I thought that a miniatures game could teach him a number of lessons.
• Group play
• Cooperation
• Critical thinking
• Planning

It seemed to work, it helped to keep him out of the psych wards for the 3 months he was with us. (He arrived in our house directly after leaving the psych ward, and he went back in 2 weeks after he left us.)

Playing with him, got me interested as well as my 20 year old son & my god son as well

"Should" and "is" seem to be two different things.

Indeed, she is. Or maybe she's just glad to get rid of me for a week in August? <grin>

Just GOTTA say this was a really lame answer, reverend dad.

Well, all I can say is that I was young at the time and it was the best answser I could come up with. What would you have said to the child? (Of course, in light of the story in Daniel, I suppose I could have said, "That wall was going to be torn down that very night, but ours aren't.")
