Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
OK, this is officially in the 48 hour breathing period to allow for comments from Tornado, A3n, and quozl.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
1. I'd assume you'd have to D20 between the closest tiles (standard tie-breaker in Scape) but I'm open to suggestions on that.
2. The intent is for the figure/object/etc. to end that movement on Cosmos terrain. I'm sure there's a way to word that more clearly. 3. The intent for Cosmos terrain is to be able to put other terrain on top of it. 4. I think Asteroid spaces should be restricted to tiles of seven hexes or fewer that aren't attached to any other terrain on the sides. Open to wording help with this as well. 5. If it's seven hexes or less and not attached to anything else, it should a. be fairly obvious if it's on top of Cosmos terrain or not and b. easy to check. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
Cool. I'd rather choose an opponent to decide instead of a d20 roll though. Makes it a little more hazardous.

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
The problem is that things like DOs, glyphs, etc. are floating too, and they don't have opponents.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
Looks good. quozl covered most of my questions.
7 hex max for asteroids sounds right. So anything more than 7 would be considered fixed? You can't take the sky from me... |

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
What about giant asteroids with huge space worms inside that want to swallow the Millenium Falcon?

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
I guess that would have to be fixed on this map which sounds about right if you were creating such a scenario.
It was like the biggest one. |

Yep. Seems right.

Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
All is looking good here.
We do need to work out the wording for gravitational pull for cases when more than one landmass is equidistant from the figure/object. The only question I have is why you went with 2 spaces for gravitational pull? And that's not a criticism, just curious as I know you had started testing the mat and wondered if that came from testing or elsewhere. Re: Cosmic Terrain Brainstorming Thread - Breathing
2 spaces felt significant but not overpowered. Only 1 space felt a little insignificant. And more than 2 feels like it could mess with things too much.
I'm thinking we'll probably want some language where players take turns, in initiative order, each moving something that hasn't been moved yet. Any help on wording for that would be much appreciated. Thanks for all chiming in, guys! I'm hoping to have a wording update ready to go for when the 48 hour breathing period elapses and then get in a vote for an initial test. I'm just going to test the rules on the mat, so I won't need a specific map. Folks can just use the rules for any map they want to play cosmic terrain on. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
