Killz costum terrain DEADWOOD trees and casstle stuff

I was looking through my brothers and mine toys when I found some trees from Weapons and Warriors, and castle pieces. I fixed the trees up on hexes, but am still working on castles.
Here are the trees:
1st edition (lame)
Spoiler Alert!

2nd edition (nice)
Ok, I did not like the look of the deadwood tree base, so I took some of these LOTR's figurine holders, and fixed the trees up. I also finished up a project of mine, Gravestones! Hers is a pic of em all together with some custom figures (I will get them on my thread, I just need to finish up their powers):

The trees count as evergreen trees for all rules that apply, and also have some powers that I made with help (thanks Killometer).
The trees host the spirits of those warriors who died next to them, and are known to hover around the trees, thus causing a "Mirage effect". So when a figure of any size is targeted for a normal attack by a non adjacent figure, the attacking figure rolls 1 less attack die. This does not stack. Also, at the end of every round roll a D20 for each squad figure and hero with only 1 life left that is adjacent to a Deadwood tree. If you roll a 19-20 a malevolent spirit destroys them. If they have a Valiant, Fearless, or Disciplined personality, then they must roll a 20 to be destroyed. Undead figures are not affected by this power.

Here are the Graves, which are just broken order markers that I painted.
They are mainly just there to block movement and look good.

And this is the grave of the warrior. All figures that follow Einar or Jandar within 2 clear sight spaces roll 1 more defense die, this is because they remember there valiant hero. And all figures that follow Utgar within 2 clear sight spaces roll 1 additional attack die, Because they remember that the warrior will always fall.

There was also some W&W battlements and castles.

For the battlement, basically the figure on the black thing can shoot and not worry about LOS because of the holes, but figure attacking from the front have no line of sight on the figure. So the marro warrior in the picture could not be targeted. This only works for small or medium figures, and only medium figures may shoot through the holes.
The battlement card I am working on, but it has 2 life, 3 def, and gets 1 automatic sheild. but when it is destroyed, remove it from the battlefield, and roll 1 defense die for the figure, if you don't roll a shield, then that figure was crushed, and takes a wound.

And here is the castle:

I don't know how Kaemon got up there, I will probably get a ladder thing.

OK lizardo, I understand "some" people don't like customs destroying heroscape, and I respect that. But I don't think I need to "get a life", some people might get insulted that way. Next time try to express yourself in more kind terms.

Hmm, that earns at least a temp "cool off" ban.

And I'm a big fan of people repurposing game components for use in Heroscape. Nice start!

Re: Killz costum terrain DEADWOOD trees and casstle stuff

I like the flavor you gave the trees. It's something that you could work a lot of variety into-maybe something along the lines of
  • At the end of the round roll a D20 for each common squad figure adjacent to a tree. If you roll a 20 a malevolent spirit destroys them.
Your battlements are pretty powerful-with no LoS to a figure behind it I hope you place them fairly across the map (unless you're playing your brother, in which case take 'em all ). I like what you did with those too, especially that they have the chance to crush someone using them.

In the pic the castle looks like it would fit pretty well on a 2-hex piece. Is that true, or is the angle deceptive?

And good job handling the hater. Hopefully he won't come back.

Edit: I was going to +rep you for it, but apparently I have to spread some around before I hit you again. I'll be back as soon as I can, though.

Edit edit: Gotcha, finally.

Re: Killz costum terrain DEADWOOD trees and casstle stuff

Thanks Killometer. The casstle is on hex, although I wish it was 2. I tried fitting Nerak, and he was falling off of 1 and a half hex. And I like the idea, I think I will incorporate this into it:
At the end of the round roll a D20 for each common figure adjacent to a tree. If you roll a 19-20 a malevolent spirit destroys them. If they have a valiant or fearless personality, then they must roll a 20 to be destroyed.
I also think The battlement will roll 1 less attack die when defending from a adjacent attack. I will playtest and see if it works.

Ooh, I like that. I think I'm going to use this next time I play. And I'm going to add that Undead are immune to this effect.

Ah you beat me to it! I have a pile of W&W parts I've been wanting to put to use like that. Nicely done!

Know how the trees have that notch for mounting in the board? I was thinking it'd be easy to cut out a hole for them in spare terrain hexes. Easy mounting.

The trees look great, fit the appearance of hero scape surprisingly well, both in terms of height and design.

I thought of that, but the X-acto blade I use is my dads old fragile blade, and I don't think it is strong enough.
