Re: Rules Team HQ
Thanks Bats! Was definitely planning on adding it to the OP (Or SP, however we eventually organize depending on size).
That said, with this cleared, I wanted to propose some more "official" procedures to keep better organized. Then we can move out of this transitional period and get running smoother. Fairly straight forward. Of note I have a vote requiring 3 yeas to move to R&C phase, so that we're at least on the same page. Obviously open to suggestions, otherwise if we're happy with this for now (Can always tweak later as needed), give a Yea and I'll add to the first post. Quote:

Re: Rules Team HQ
To clarify on moving between stages:
1. Anyone can propose a vote moving forward? 2. Submission to Discussion is just a matter of the last thing being wrapped and it being the next thing in the queue, no vote required, just an automatic move, yes? 3. After the Discussion phase, are there basically two paths we could vote for? Path A being "just a misunderstanding, no changes needed" or Path B being "possible need for changes"? Or is that something that's going to be decided one way or another in the Research and Clarification phase? 4. There's no formal vote to move past the Research and Clarification phase, correct? It's just someone feels comfortable putting up a suggested ruling vote and we move right to that vote once a proposal is made, yes? If so, sounds like a fairly straightforward process, with only two votes, one of which only takes 3 yeas. yea C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Rules Team HQ
To clarify on moving between stages:
1. Anyone can propose a vote moving forward? Anyone on the rules team. 2. Submission to Discussion is just a matter of the last thing being wrapped and it being the next thing in the queue, no vote required, just an automatic move, yes? Yep, it's automatic. Obviously we can always bump something up if it's more pressing. We can do what we want, but otherwise we'll just go down the list. 3. After the Discussion phase, are there basically two paths we could vote for? Path A being "just a misunderstanding, no changes needed" or Path B being "possible need for changes"? Or is that something that's going to be decided one way or another in the Research and Clarification phase? Yes I imagine the two paths exactly how you described! 4. There's no formal vote to move past the Research and Clarification phase, correct? It's just someone feels comfortable putting up a suggested ruling vote and we move right to that vote once a proposal is made, yes? I didn't think we needed a vote to move to a vote, sounded redundant. If someone's not comfortable, then nay the vote and we'll rediscuss! |

Re: Rules Team HQ
The rules pass. Put them right in the OP for us, and with our first ruling passed, we're officially open for submissions again!

Re: Rules Team HQ
I'm good with it!
We're clarifying the timing of what "Start of round" means, correct? Before/after OMs and Initiative? Hasbro has been inconsistent, so our research would be to see what designs we have in the Index, that do not specify Before/after - OMs/Initiative. Then I think our options are to either DEFINE start of the round officially, or just keep the start of round "phase" to include OMs/Initiative and update cards as needed with the exact timing. The latter might be cleanest since it wouldn't really change the rules of the game, and it'd be explicit on the cards. |

Re: Rules Team HQ
I guess my main point is that I want 'start of the game/round/turn' to all be fairly consistent. Having 'start of the turn' happen before the action that is defined as starting a turn, but having the 'start of the round' happen after the action that starts a round seems unnecessarily confusing to me.
I can do some more research later on the exact impact of any changes, but it seems to me like the easiest thing to do would be to just make the "start" of a game/round/turn take place before any other actions. |
