Oh, no that is not necessary. Playtesting is almost always done with proxy figures.

Yeah, just use like sized figures to keep the line of sight aspect in order. In other words, don't use a giant to proxy a storm trooper. I always test figures with proxies, and if I like the design, then I either buy one or make one.

I've used everything from Order Markers to Wound Markers to Stratego Pieces to Army Men to Toy Animals. I rarely ever have any of the figures for playing and play tests.
And the Lord said unto John, "Come forth and you will receive eternal life."
But John came fifth, and won a toaster.

Or capture CVN for designs for all six movies.

What is a bummer about that is all the time put into it and only a handful of people are allowed to know the results.

I doubt their Vader is as cool as the HoSS version though.

Me too. Liked it more than Force Awakens or any of the prequels. Watched A New Hope later on the same day as I saw it. Was thinking watching Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, then A New Hope would make a pretty good trilogy all on it's own covering the Obi-Wan/Vader saga along with the Birth of the Empire/Rise of the Rebellion story arc.
