Those are great cards and stats - I can't wait to use them. I just introduced my 7-year old to LOTR movies and he wants to try them too.

Ah, I see. Well, whether the symbols are yours or not, they still look fantastic, as do the rest of the cards! And hit zones shouldnt be a problem, anyone who knows that a human looks like can probably figure out target points and hit zones. You're fine.

Lucky kid! I remember the first time I saw Fellowship of the Ring (I was like 10) and I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention in the parts that weren't full of action, and so I totally lost track of Boromir vs. Aragorn in some scenes, especially the scene with the Sword that was Broken. Nowadays I laugh at the thought of me not knowing who was who. Glad to see your son likes the movies to!

Re: Jaz1597's LOTR Customs

Here we go again!

With the elves, my focus was on concealment and camouflage type powers. I wanted powers that worked well thematically but also during gameplay. These units are probably the ones that I relied most heavily on official units, with a couple being carbon copies (I feel a bit weird about that). It's always more fun to come up with new abilities, but as I've said before, I'm still tweaking. Now that I've finished the units from FOTR, I'm going to go back and make some modifications to the units I've already finished. I want to make sure things work point-wise, as well as making sure the cards look good and there is consistency.

The Dwarf was breathing so loud we could have shot him in the dark.

Some may ask why I haven't done Elrond yet, and the answer is, I'm focusing on units from the Third Age. I have an ROTK version of Elrond, and a Last Alliance version. I'm going to wait to do all the Last Alliance units until after I do ROTK. So for now, sit back, enjoy the Elves, and know that in a few days I'll start posting Eomer, Eowyn, Theoden, the Riders Of Rohan, Rangers Of Ithilien, Treebeard, Gollum, more Uruk-hai, and of course, Gandalf the White.

Stay tuned!

Peter

EDIT: Oops! I just realized I forgot to put Arwen and Galadriel in the picture! I'll just have to put them in the next post...

It's sad but true. I would have loved to do him. I may end up doing a custom, but there are other customs I'd like to do first: Shelob, Gwaihir, Beorn, perhaps Boromir in armor...those will probably wait until I've finished the other units. I've bitten off quite a lot here...

Re: Jaz1597's LOTR Customs

Alright...here's the start of the Two Towers block. This should round out the Isengard units (the Warg riders are forthcoming). I had a lot of fun with these units, and I'm especially proud of the Engineers. It's interesting to come up with specialist units.

I'm still feeling a bit odd about using so many recycled powers. I know these are my first stab at custom units, so I guess it's sort of okay. Plus my ideas for a lot of these units are very similar to some tried-and-true official units (although maybe that's just my justification). Either way, I like saving the custom powers for the really cool units and heroes.

It is an army bred for a single purpose.

Incidentally, I'm starting to get the hang of taking pictures of the figures. I think I'm getting a little closer each time...although there's a loss in quality when I convert to JPEG.

As always, let me know what you think. I'm constantly tweaking. In fact, I've re-done all the cards I've posted so far. Eventually I'll update the images, but it's a bit of a pain. Also, I've finished preliminary stats and abilities for the rest of the Two Towers units, so expect to see those later this week.

Cheers!
Peter

Re: Jaz1597's LOTR Customs

Vanguish, the owner of Snaggletooth, has very little left in stock. That is stock that he does not intend to keep. From time to time a former player will consign his figures to Vanguish for sale, but that is increasingly rare. Still, check from time to time.

I've had a lot of success with Big Coin Collectibles on eBay as well. He seems to deal exclusively with the LOTR TMG. He's got a ton of figures, and the more common ones aren't completely outrageously priced.

EDIT: Whoa! Just noticed the Grima card is all wrong. I'll have to fix that one tomorrow.

I second this. I bought many of the ones I have from Big Coin, after a referral from johngee during my trade with him. His selection seems good and the prices reasonable for an out of print game.

Link? I couldn't find a site for this Vanguish guy. I don't plan on buying any more LotR minis anytime soon, but it might help others find a resource outside of ebay.

It's the link I provided in an earlier post: www.snaggletoothgames.com.

Harlax is right...his stock is dwindling. He used to have the best selection of anyone, but that was a few years ago.
