Grenade Questions
When using the Airborne Elite's grenade special attack if an enemy figure is adjacent to one of the Airborne elite squad figures can the Airborne elite figure choose to use a normal attack, throw the Grenade at the enemy figure adjacent, or throw the grenade somewhere else while the enemy figure is still adjacent.

If you use the Grenade SA, any AE that doesn't throw a grenade may not make a normal attack. An AE may throw a grenade at an adjacent figure (also being affected) but, may not throw elsewhere while engaged.
Kumiko is not impressed with your sculpt, either.

It would seem logical that a figure would be able to use a normal attack rather than a special one if given the option.

Actually, if you throw the grenade on a space adjacent to the enemy figure, and not the space the enemy figure is on, then the AE won't be affected.

Also, the Grenade is bound by engagement rules in this scenario. Because the AE is engaged with a unit they MUST use the Grenade on THAT unit. If you use the Grenade while engaged, you have to hit yourself, that's the only option. |

Many of the Heroscape rules were made for simplicity (it is a game designed for 8-12 year-olds primarily). Feel free to add more logical complications if you want to. |

If can Deadeye Dan is engaged, he can still shoot a figure that is within his range (a different figure). Why wouldn't the AE be able to do the same? You are not leaving the engagement, you are just targeting someone else...
I'm not trying to start a fire on this thread, but I'm just curious why one character can do it, and the other can not. |

Dead-eye Dan is unique in that in addition to his normal attack and his special attack, he has a special power that he may use instead of using either of those attacks.
If DED used his normal attack or his (Ullar Enhanced Rifle) special attack, he would be required to attack engaged figures before others. Since Sharpshooter, is a special power, and not an attack (special or normal) he is not bound by this rule. The grenade is a special attack, so it is bound by the engaged rules. Note also the difference between Nilfhelm's Ice Shard Breath (which is a special attack) and Braxas' Acid Breath (which is a special power). Nilf has to use the ice breath on engaged figures first. Braxas' special power is not limited by the engaged rule. |

Cool, and thank you for the clarification.

I think that an individual AE could choose NOT to grenade, right? As in three of his buddies throw the bomb and he just does nothing?
