well, as most of you dont know, my birthday is Jan 8. Im turnin 12 this year, and to commemorate my first bday on this site, i am making a contest.


Goal: Post a HS map with a birthday theme. No customs* may be used. This is so that nobody can make "Birthday tiles" or "Sir Birthday" just to win. Winners will be picked on these categories:
Best use of terrain (layout and map structure)
Best use of different tiles
Best use of imagination (cakes aren't the only birthday thing i would like...)

Ends: 1/8/07. thread will be closed 1/15/07, for discussion puposes only. no late entries will be accepted

Who can enter: anyone. i am not judging by who's mappy thingy is biggest

Prizes: 1st prize: secret, and a trophy
2nd prize: same as first, thought not as "elaborate" and "consuming of my time to make it" and a trophy
3rd prize: trophy

Note: this is not a wedding. There should be no little miniatures on the top of the cake or whatever you make.

Just to clarify what it is again, because i am sure it would get "Huhs?" and "But you said it had to be a cake!"s.

YOU MAY MAKE ANY BIRTHDAY ITEM YOU WANT!So be creative! that is a category of judging, so its a good idea to try.
For example:
Cakes
Party hats
Ballons
Gifts
Ice cream
And anything you can think of!

*i will allow cake decorations and party stuff (favors, candy) but no custom figs or custom terrain will be allowed in the map.

Is there any limit on terrain we may or may not use? I have an idea, but i'm not sure how much terrain it'll use.


Also, do we have to post pictures of it, or will just the VS file suffice? If my idea doesn't work with my terrain, i will map it out with what i need in VS and do virtual rendition pics of it from there. Is that okay?

doesnt matter how much or little you use, and I would prefer it in pictures, but some ppl cant so, you can use either or.

edit: but if you use VS or LS or any of those, it has to be able to actually work. no flying mimrings or magical hovering tiles.

also in LS or VS or those things, please no starting zone peices. i will not actually be playing this.

sweet. i'll begin mapping it out immediately. How many entries is each person permitted? If only one, may we submit more than one "map" as one entry, sort of like a package deal (like cake AND ice cream)?

sure! sounds cool. as for amount of entries, ill limit it to 2 maps per person, but they may not be the same "item" and cannot just be a remake of the first entry. if u wana do that, ask me to cancel your first entry and add the replacement (still allowing you 1 more entry)

oh and only 1 of your 2 entries can win a prize. this way nobody can win 2 awards.

yes, you can't make a cake, and another cake, even if they are different. you have to choose one cake instead of both.
