Oprime is surprisingly tart
Thats interesting.

Perhaps you could implement "building" the road as part of the game play.

Before movement ,roll d20, and if you get right #'s you can "build" a road section.

You could do it so that each team has the oppertunity to build thier own road section to get an advantage.
Have the road split a toward each teams start zone at the gap.

great maps, i've used a few of yours already, and i've only been playing HS for 1.5 weeks. I really appreciate the symmetry and uses of water/road on a lot of yours.

Sweet maps and scenarios. I like the new one with access being added as the game progresses. I don't think it's too complicated.

Cool idea! as you said it would make more sense if the road split towarda each teams start zone, will try this idea in a new scenario.

thx AmishBurrito! Well, here in Berlin itīs night already, hope itīs not too late for you =) Iīve posted a download link for the map in the 1. post. Not much scenario text, just the special rules. Iīve not played the map yet, but i think it should work. Feedback would be nice, if you try the scenario.

Have fun and i wish you good rolls for your game tonight ...

First you have the chance to bring your figures in positions.

After round 1 - Three road hexes are added and the main road can be used now.

After round 2 - Now there are also connections to the central part from the start zones by adding 2x 2 grasshex tiles. But it will take longer to get to the big tree and various glyphs using that way.

What do you think? To complicated? Thx for feedback!

chicano,
this is an idea I've played with a couple of times - I used to have a thread on HQ called Changing Terrain Scenarios. I've used this idea with lava tiles to simulate an errupting voclano. I plan on using it with my new snow and ice tiles starting tomorrow (when they come). I don't think it is too compliclated as long as you play test and get the rules layed out well. If I start this thread again maybe we can put your ideas and mine together and come up with some cool changing terrain. I think it adds some more variety to the game.

Hi cavie,

Errupting volcano, sounds interesting! =) But i missed your changing terrain thread on hq :/ If you post it anew, i want to check your scenarios and we can put ideas together if you want.

Changing terrains... Another user posted in hq about using the ruins as gates, that also sounds like a nice idea.

some quick thoughts/ideas about changing terrain:
- I think adding tiles must be limited, as you donīt want to rebuild too much of the map while playing.
- I made destructible ruins, that also could be used.
- Melee Figures could chop down trees to gain acces to certain areas of the map, i could make a card for this like for the ruins.
- Tiles where a figure was destroyed could be marked as graves... With influence to the "moral" of adjacent friendly figures and influence of the attack or defence values...

and some more ideas... mmh i think i will start a new scenario soon

Cool ideas Chicano - I will work with my new snow and ice today and then post my old changing terrain scenarios with this new one.... then we can merge some of those ideas or make a bunch of different types to share based on that concept.

dra,
I do have some ideas for a mountain - even a made a scenario called Mt. Doom that I will put in the Changing Terrain thread I'll do hopefully by this weekend. I can send you that file if you'd like.

Chicano,
I like that glyph - it reminds me of walls in Magic the Gathering games where you can damage them but most of them can't attack. Very good! I just got my snow and ice today and I'm working on a mountain with snow/ice that erupts and exposes a volcano. We'll keep the ideas flowing (pun intended)...
