The Book of Jimmy Woo
The Book of Jimmy Woo C3G MARVEL PUBLIC EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION 34 DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Hammer of Thor set. Its model number and name are #005 / Jimmy Woo. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Jimmy Woo was one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s longest-serving and most loyal agents. He battled against Yellow Claw in the '50s and Godzilla in the '70s, and continued to serve into the noughts. Then he was caught up in an investigation of a vast, shadowy organization called the Atlas Foundation. During this time his youth was miraculously restored, just as many of his allies from the '50s began to reappear in his life. Curiously, all of this seemed to be driven by Atlas itself. Eventually the foundation's master plan was brought to light: Atlas wanted to offer Woo the chance to be its next leader. Woo accepted the offer, in order to use Atlas' enormous influence for good. He leads the Agents of Atlas: Gorilla-Man, Namora, M-11, Venus, and Marvel Boy (aka The Uranian). _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
NAME = JIMMY WOO
SECRET IDENTITY = SPECIES = HUMAN UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = AGENT PERSONALITY = ENTHUSIASTIC SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 6 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 150 THE ATLAS FOUNDATION Start the game with 5 black Investment Markers on this card. After placing Order Markers and before rolling for initiative, you may remove an Investment Marker from this card to choose one of the following: • Place a figure you control on an empty space adjacent to Jimmy Woo. It will not take leaving engagement attacks. • Remove one Wound Marker from the card of a Unique Hero in your army. • For this round, opponents cannot roll for leaving engagement attacks against Agents you control, and opponents' special powers consider Agents you control to have the class of Criminal instead of what is listed on their cards. AGENTS OF ATLAS After revealing an Order Marker on this card and instead of taking a turn with Jimmy Woo, you may choose up to two Unique Agent Heroes that are within 6 spaces of him. Jimmy Woo may be one of the chosen Heroes. Take a turn with each chosen Hero. During your second turn, figures that were attacked during your first turn subtract 1 from their Defense numbers. You may not take any additional turns. Last edited by Ronin; May 27th, 2022 at 10:23 AM. |

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
Okay, quick notes here - I think I wound up in a slightly more complex place than I originally intended here, due to the need to set him apart in a slightly crowded field (Agent leaders). Some of the details are for sure negotiable, but I like the general 'flow' of the design.
(Start of round Investment power, turn-to-turn Agent leadership) The 'Agents get a different class' bit is kinda silly, but it's there because the Agents of Atlas front as bad guys and I'd like to maintain some ability to do that. |

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
Really dig the static healing option. Would like to see how that combos with other healers, especially with that retrieval option.
More Investment Marker powers are great. Would love to see that whole mechanic expand. He looks pretty squishy for a front line leader. Is there a point range you are shooting for here? Really dig the character and the design. |

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
I like it too but I wonder if the class change could be exploited. Maybe just change to Criminal instead?

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
What's the best class change you can make on them? Fighter/Crime Fighter? Assassin/Ninja to pair with Hand Ninja? Are there any class changes that get you significantly more value than just taking double turns with the Agents themselves?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
Only works for opponents' stuff, you're not getting synergies out of it. I think possibilities for exploitation are pretty limited in that context.
Don't have a particular point range in mind, but wanted him to be a little squishy to keep the points down a bit - he's part of a team of six. |

Re: The Book of Jimmy Woo (Design)
Oh, yeah, I missed that subtlety. What mechanical impacts *are* there to changing how your opponent sees your class? Obviously there are situations where you could use that to hurt yourself against figures that like Criminals, but are there any upside uses for that at all?

There are some defensive powers that trigger on class.

Can you name some? Trying to wrap my head around uses here.
