ARSENIC AND OLD LACE
At the start of the game, if you control Old Lace and Gertrude Yorkes is her Companion, you may instead place her this figure on Old Lace’s Army Card. Order Markers may still be placed and revealed on this card normally. As long as Gert Yorkes is on Old Lace's Army Card, Old Lace has a class of Runaway in addition to the class listed on her card, and when Old Lace attacks, she may attack one additional time.

Shouldn't Old Lace have the species 'Dinosaur'? I thought it was decided that all the different Dino species were going to get condensed down to Dinosaur.

Anyway, I've got some tests for these two in coming. Can anyone guess what Old Lace, Angel, Lightspeed, and Vulture all have in common outside of out of turn carrying?

True, but more importantly, they all can go in a Star-Lord army at the same time without messing up Rag-Tag Tactics.

For the Dinosaur thing - I don't think we ever came down on that officially (though I'm still in favor). If/when we do, yeah, she'll definitely be on the slate.

Units: Carry On My Wayward Son: Old Lace (140), Angel (90), Lightspeed (40), Vulture (90), Star-Lord (250), Martian Manhunter I (300), Rocket Raccoon (175), Venom (230), Robot (210)- 1525 total vs Captain Carol and the Carol Corps: Ms Marvel (350), Quasar (370), Wonder Woman II (370), Livewire (260), Wasp II (160), Skrull Inflitrator x1 (10)- 1520 total

Game Summary: Weirdly, all the 'out of turn carry' figures are also Star-Lord compatible (Old Lace might actually be the best among them for Star-Lord, as she doesn't take up a valuable slot species or class wise), thus I decided to try out this army where everyone but Robot can be carted up the field with ease. J'onn got the OMs in the 1st round and had some good luck on his Telepathic Directive rolls (getting 2 blanks, then 3, then 3 again), moving the whole army up efficiently (naturally Chris Pratt rode the raptor). After the first round, it was Robot versus Ms Marvel, each ordering their homies to blast each other. Old Lace actually got a proper activation from Robot early on, as her lack of flying meant she was slightly behind the other carriers. Old Lace isn't exactly a slouch on offense though, and she managed a wound on Wonder Woman. After that, the carriers clogged up the other team enough (thanks mostly to Angel) that the Carol Corps never was able to get in enough solid attacks on the right people and eventually went down to constant attacks of 7.

Old Lace didn't do a lot here, but having another carrier is certainly nice, especially one that packs a decent punch. Though she lacks flying, once she does get in position she can work as a decent blocker with her high life, Angel helps her out a lot in this role.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 1 wound to Wonder Woman in 1 attack.
• Runaway's Companion: Not used
• Swift Carry: Used during 2 Telepathic Directive moves, and one Guarding of the Globe! turn. Moved Star-Lord during all of them.
• Leap Not used
• Damage Taken: 4 wounds from Wonder Woman (the Sword wound went to Star-Lord), eventually died from Sword wounds Wondie dished out as she cleared out other carriers.

Result: The Carry Ons win with a 3 life Manhunter, 4 life Venom, and 4 life Rocket Raccoon.

Map: Sewer Labyrinth
Units: Good Golly Miss Molly: Old Lace (140), Molly Hayes (180), Armor (100)- 420 total vs Micro Marvels: Ms Marvel (350), Wasp I (50), Beast Boy (Cheetah) (20)- 420 total

Game Summary:

Trying out Old Lace in a micro point game where she can help get the most out of Molly's discount super stats by moving her up without Molly getting Fatigued. Worked pretty well, the downside of having to move up Armor with her own OMs at first was worth it since Molly was able to get over half-way across the map without any risk of nappy-time. After moving up Molly twice, and eating Wasp in the process, Old Lace didn't do anything else. Molly managed to smash Miss Marvel into paste pretty quickly, but Lacey was in a good position to start getting her own OMs if Molly had gone down.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): 2 wounds to Wasp in 1 attack.
• Runaway's Companion: Picked Molly, 'borrowed' her turn once.
• Swift Carry: Carried up Molly on both borrowed turns
• Leap Not used
• Damage Taken: None, the raptor was just was not threatening enough to warrant an attack when there where some schoolgirls around.

Result: Molly and company win with Molly at two life, and Old Lace fully healthy

Units: It Was A Small Subpoena : Gert (30), Harely Quinn I (130), Joker I (190)- 350 total vs Small Town Christmas: Luke Cage (190), Firestar (120), Kickass (40)- 350 total

Game Summary:

So yeah, Gert is just acting as a cheap way to get +1 to initiative here to help Joker reorganize his chaos. It never ended up mattering, but it was still probably the best use of 30 points for this team, especially as Joker doesn't really play that nice with Skrull Infiltrators. Ultimately, even with the Joker moving OMs both rounds he was alive, Cage was just a smidge too beefy for the clowns to down. Gert was left without an support or OMs once Harley went down in round three, and Cage was able to sprint over to her and smash her face in.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): None.
• Arsenic and Old Lace: Not used.
• Runaway Morale: Boosted Initiative rolls by one for three rounds. Never ended up mattering as her team won initiative naturally all three rounds.
• Damage Taken: Stomped by Luke Cage for 3 wounds in one attack.

Result: Cage stands alone with 2 life left

Army Test 2
Map: Island Plane Crash (No E-Glyph)
Units: The Ants Go Marching On: Gert (30), Ant-Man (Pym) (30), Ant-Man (Lang) (80), Mentallo (135), Fire Ant Swarm x20 (200)- 475 total vs Air Hawkeye: Hawkeye (Barton) II (160), Cable (275), Skrull Infiltrator x4 (40)- 475 total

Game Summary:

So yeah, this army is a bit silly, but the Fire Ants really depend on initiative wins to be able to move (as the height 1 thing is otherwise crippling) so a cheap initiative booster can be nice if you don't feel like springing for Oracle or what-not. Gert actually made a difference here as her initiative boost resulted in a switch that let Mentallo mind control Cable into moving downhill (and getting some wounds on Hawkeye) at the end of one round and the Fire Ants then surrounding him at the start of the next.

Result: Team Ant wins with several Ants dead but all Heroes fine and dandy.

Units: Insanity runs in my family. It practically gallops: Gert (30), Old Lace (140), Joker I (190), Karolina Dean (130)- 490 total vs Who do I look like, Boris Karloff?: Frankenstein (320), Man-Bat (170)- 490 total

Game Summary:

So in this one we've basically Voltroned the three Runaways into one super Runaway while Joker provides a little disruption. Fortunately, for the other team, Man-Bat getting OMs isn't a completely terrible thing. Ultimately, even though Man-Bat was able to eventually separate Karolina from the Runaway Gestalt, Arsenic and Old Lace managed to smash through Frank's defense surprisingly quickly (which was dumb luck really) to secure a win.

Result: Gert's team wins with Old Lace at 3 life, Karolina with 2 life and Joker feeling just peachy.

Game Summary:

Molly still likes Old Lace around even if she isn't her companion, and Ms. Marvel definitely likes having two solid hitters being moved up at the same time. This time Frank's funky wound ignoring thing was on point though, and between auto-wounds and solid attacks the Creature team out-muscled Carol's Girl Scout Troop.

Result: The Lizard stands alone with 2 wounds.

Overall: Gert and Old Lace feel fine to me, they're useful but not amazing when taken separately and pretty good when put together. They're not doing anything crazy concerning though, and the low defense keeps them in check. I like that they have some nice interactions with Molly and Karolina through Swift Carry, the Runaways are starting to feel like a pretty cohesive faction.

Thanks! Looks like Old Lace is a pretty small piece of a bigger "tons of carry dudes" army, and is flexible enough to be worth an attack now and then, but not enough to be problematic beyond redundancy.
